Well, by now you have seen what little I have to offer. And now, without further time wasting, is my opinion. I have to have an opinion on everything. But as you can tell from these small pages of my pathetic tribute, I haven't been a fiend for long. About 2 or 3 years is my rough guess at this point. But I've known of the Misfits for about 10 years. However, I feel it is, by some means, my right to state a few things. Warning, this may end up being rather long winded. I want to tell my story of Misfit glory, and then feed you my sinister opinion.

Well, let's see, how exactly did this whole thing start, anyway? Ok, basically, a few years ago I went out and bought a copy of Collection 2. I popped it into my CD player without any real expectations since this was my first time listening to the 'Fits. For those who are also as Misfit dumb as I am, Collection 2 stared the infamous Glenn Danzig on vocals. So it started up. The first thing I noticed, as many people notice about the early works of the Misfits, is that the quality of sound really sucked. I mean, it hurt my ears to hear it. Some songs the drums were too loud and the vocals were blended into the background, others the vocals were too loud, etc. It just all around sucked as far as quality. I let that pass. After all, punk, especially from the 70s and 80s, wasn't exactly known for it's sound quality. I let the CD play as I went about my homework.

Suddenly, I was blasted with a song that, to this day, had me rolling on the floor hysterical laughing. The song was called Rat Fink. Ladies and gentlemen, and Fiends please don't flip on me for this, that song was the worst song I had ever heard! From what I remember about it [it's been a few years since I heard the song] all Glenn did was spell Rat Fink in some sort of musical patern. The CD was handed over to someone else within the next week.

That basically started my mad rampage of hating the Misfits. I bashed them on one of my now defunct web pages, I bashed them with friends, I grimiced at the mere mention of the name Misfits. It was hatred at first sight, and I was very vocal about that hatred.

Well, the tides turned. It's a strange thing to have happen, I'll admit, but it did, and I am no less the fiend for it. Two or three years ago, whenever it was, I sat calmly watching Loud, a metal music video show on MuchMusic. The sounds of Sepultura and Obituary filled my basement as I sat eating marshmellows and drinking cans of coke. After a commercial break, a video that had never before graced my screen started to play. I sat there and watched it with my mouth open. This is the Misfits?! Who the hell is that guy? That guy ended up being Michale Graves, and that video ended up being Dig Up Her Bones...and I ended up being hooked.

Ok, I'll admit it, [if you saw the picture section of the page, you knew this was coming] my first though was "God, damn, their singer is HOT!" Hey, I'm a single girl, like I said before. But after I got my drooling under control, I did actually notice the music. The next day, I bought American Psycho.

That was my tale of glory. I hope you enjoyed it. But now, on to the opinions....after I have a cigarette, hold on....ok, sorry, I really needed that.

Warning to Fiends: I am sticking up for Michale here, so if you hate his guts, read no further! I mean no disrespect to Glenn Danzig, I like him too, but this has to be said!

I have joined a few of those dreded Yahoo! Clubs, and yes, I have joined a few Misfits clubs there. I have noticed a trend, and this seems to be the same with a lot of bands, but it's strong with the Fiends, that a lot of people really hate Michale Graves. That's cool, I mean, your opinion is your opinion. But I have seen topics such as The Misfits are Dead Without Glenn and I must admit, I do not agree. Michale has a strong voice, if not a strong presence. He is very talented to add to that. Glenn, also, has an amazing voice and is very talented. But things change, people grow apart...and Glenn has been gone since 1983. I was 3 years old! I had no idea who the Misfits were when I was 3 years old! But because I do not hold Glenn up as the best vocalist on Earth and as my lord and master, I have been drummed out of more than one club. And it's not that I was being mean, I just merely stated, "I don't think the Misfits are dead without him, just different." This seems to be sacreligious to say or something. I'll be the first to say, I love Glenn Danzig, and his band Danzig was one of the three bands to grab me and pull me into listening to heavy metal. I could never turn my back on him. But as far as Mike and the Misfits go...I prefer Glenn on his own and Mike with the Misfits. [Ducks and prepairs for the e-mails to come in stating she's a poser]

Also, the rumors are out of control. For those who don't know, The Misfits recently got stuck in a vicious rumor mill that still doesn't seem to have stopped. First, they broke up. Then, Jerry kicked out Dr. Chud, Michale, and Doyle [who, by the way, is his little brother]. Then they broke up again. Because of this, The 'Fits lost their place on this summer's [2000] OZZfest. They are taking a break. They stated this was because of an overload with work. You people need to see something. These guys still need to pay their bills. Jerry has a daughter on her way to college and a son in high school. Doyle also has two young sons from what I understand [ok, so I poke into their private lives!]. They also work day jobs to pay their bills because the music scene ain't payin' 'em for them! These guys aren't like Metallica, with each member living off the interest cuz they are so damn rich. They a need a break. They deserve a break! Lay off the rumors. What does spreading rumors about a band get you anyway? Fame? Money? None of the above. Get with it. All rumors do is hurt a bunch of guys doing what they love doing, and you could end up being the reason they stop. If you love the Misfits so much, wait patiently while they continue being real people like you and me, and shut your traps!

Ok, I'm done now. I think this was long enough. Sorry for taking up so much of your time, and I'm sorry if your eyes are watering now. But I can't pay your eye care bills...I'm just a young woman with a day job trying to make it in this huge world. That's probably why the Misfits are one of the few bands I still listen to...they're real people and you can tell. It's refreshing sometimes.
