We're just back from a fantistic trip to Australia. We visited Cairns, Port Douglas, Brisbane, Alexandra Headlands, Taree and Sydney.
Cairns was beautiful. We went on the Kuranda Railway over the rainforest.
What a wonderful view. We visited many animal parks including The
Crocodile Hunter's Park, the Australia Zoo in Beerwah. Steve wasn't there at the time, but we
saw all his croc friends. The Koalas were great, the roos were cute.
Here are
some Sydney pics. We also
did the Sydney Harbor Bridgeclimb. It was a great experience. This
was one spectacular trip. Click here to view

AUSTRALIA 01-02
We've done it again. We're back again from another fantastic vacation in Australia. This one brought us to Perth, to vist some really great friends. We stayed in Scarborough Beach, travelled up to Kalbarri, Monkey Mia, Cervantes and back to Scarborough Beach. We then flew back to Sydney, drove up to Taree, stayed at Diamond Beach and then back to Sydney. Click here to see some of our great pictures.

YELLOWSTONE VACATION
One of our favorite trips was to Yellowstone National Park.
We went during the summer of '98, stayed in cabins right in the park and saw lots of
wildlife. Our first stop in Yellowstone was the Grand Canyon area. As we walked to dinner
the first night, a couple of hundred feet from the cabin was the hugest bison
we ever saw just lying in the grass with an elk nearby scraping his antlers on a tree. We saw
grizzly bear, moose, coyotes and lots of prairie dogs. (They're cute) The geysers were fantastic.
Never expected anything like that. Can't wait to get back. Second part of the trip we stayed
by Old Faithful. That was a magnificent sight.

The picture of Death Valley was taken in the middle of nowhere. This is Badwater. As you can see the elevation is
282 feet below sea level, the lowest point on the Western Hemisphere. The salt lake was immense, it went on forever.
This picture shows the only water in the area which was only a couple of inches deep. This was in December of '98. It looked the same in January 01 too.

Grand Canyon, Colorado
This is the Grand Canyon in Colorado. The view is awesome. The picture really doesn't
do it justice. Looking over the edge, you realize how small you really are. We hiked
down into the Canyon twice. The first time only 2 miles down. The second time I made it to
Indian Gardens, 3 miles down and Ray and Ray made it to Plateu Point, 4 and 1/2 miles down.
It was a tough hike back up. Had to wait on the sidelines when the mules went past.
Wildlife was abundant, deer, elk, mountain goats and more.

CALIFORNIA YOSEMITE - KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK - SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK VACATION
Well, we're back again from another exciting vacation. The Sequoia Trees were one of the most magnificent sites we've ever seen. It is amazing how big they are and how long they've been around.

Click here to view Maine. This is Schoodic Point near Bar Harbor. The two bottom pictures
are views of Niagra Falls at night.
Every Thanksgiving we head to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, where we spend the holiday hiking
and viewing deer and other wildlife on Skyline Drive. These are white tailed deer in Big Meadow. Click on the image

Another passion of ours is air shows. We've been going to the Oceana AirShow in
Virginia Beach since 1988. We've been to the Andrews Air Force Base Open House Air Show three times.
The Thunderbirds are one of our favorite aerobatic demonstration teams.
Here's a great picture taken by Ray at one of the airshows. Click on the image to enlarge it.
