Nick raised his eyebrows. "About what Amy?"
"I don’t know. We never talk anymore, all you’re interested in is making out."
A big smile spread across Nick’s face. "You wanna do it right now?"
I sighed. "No, Nick. Did you ever think about marriage?"
"You mean us getting married or marriage in general?"
"Both."
"We aren’t getting married any time soon, that’s all I know."
"Why not?" I asked indignantly. "We are going to have a child, and you do love me don't you?"
"Of course I do Amy, and you know it. But there are many reasons why we can't. Number one, the fans will flip out. Number tw-"
"The fans? Nick honey, I'm glad that you think about your fans, but aren't I a bit more important to you than a million screaming teenyboppers? I was one of those fans once, I know what it's like, and believe me they won't care."
"I don't know Aim, I wasn't even going to publicly admit that we were dating because I was afraid of what they'd think."
"What?!" I practically screeched. "Do you mean to tell me that you were never going to tell them? Nick, they have to visit Planet Reality sometime! You're just holding them back!"
"Excuse me for caring about my fans."
"And excuse me for caring about our relationship!" I turned towards the window so I couldn't see him.
"Amy, come on don't act like this."
"Act like what? Like a caring girlfriend who wants what's best for her boyfriend and child?"
"No, a girlfriend who doesn't want what's best for her boyfriend's career. You know how important singing is to me, and you now how important my fans are. Just think how you would react if you weren't going out with me and I came out and said that I was getting married."
"I would still be a Brian fan so I wouldn't give a damn," I answered, still facing the window. "But on the rare chance that I would be dumb enough to be a Nick Carter fan, I would be okay with it. It's not like any of them could ever get you anyway, if not because of age because of the million to one odds of ever meeting you."
Nick shook his head. "I still don't think so."
"Well then keep on thinking that way, after all you are Nick Carter, the hottest pop sensation since New Kids on the Block. How could I forgot that your 'common' girlfriend should have any importance to your famous self," I spat out angrily. "I suggest that if you want to remain on my good side, which you certainly do if you ever want to see this child after he or she is born, I would recommend you change your attitude."
"What?! Who are you to be making threats like that just because I don't want to marry you!"
"Oh, so now you don't want to marry me at all, is that it?"
"No, I didn't mean it like that."
"Then what did you mean Nick?"
"I meant that I'm not ready to be married right now. But we will get married someday though, I promise. Now please turn around and look at me."
I shook my head. "When are we going to get married Nick? After you guys become totally forgotten about so by that time no one will care?"
Nick sighed. "Okay, now you're just being ridiculous."
"I don't care. Look, I'm not saying that we have to get married today or even tomorrow, but I would like to get married before the baby is born. I'm only three months pregnant, that gives us six months." Nick remained silent. "Nick, I just want us to be a family, and I don't think we can be a family if we're not married. Your fans were fine with the pregnancy, I'm sure they're expecting marriage."
"I don't know Amy, this is something I really have to think about."
"Alright fine." We sat the rest of the flight in complete silence.
