Prelude
Stepping into the auditorium, you notice its emptiness, and vastness.
It is merely a big room, with a set of large doors at the end.
So why did you call it an auditorium? You didn't call it an auditorum,
it made itself known as such.
"What? Incredulous!"
It made itself known?
You don't bother dwelling on the thought,
it slips through your mind like water through a sieve.
At the far end of the auditorium, you notice a large set of oak doors.
Slowy at first, then with a hurried walk of excited fear you apporach the doors.
You stop in front of them, and notice that they are completely flat,
and without a door knob, or any mechanism for opening them.
You pound on the doors, asking for someone to open them,
but the only response you get is the wall's repeating of your own plea for help.
You continue pounding on the doors until you grow weary,
then you walk about the room, searching for another exit,
but there is none to be found.
You arrive back at the door, tired, scared, and confused.
You curl up in a ball on the floor in front of the doors,
and slowly fall asleep.
You wake, or so you think.
Not quite sure if this is a dream or not,
you slowly rise, and check out your surroundings.
As you turn back around to face the doors,
you see a shimmering light in the air,
and you hear a voice.
At first the voice is hard to hear, then it grows louder,
into a song, repeating itself over and over:
"From stone to cloud, so I ascended,
now I resemble a sort of god."
Slowly you realize, the voice is your own.
You try to stop it, but are unable.
You feel your mouth, and it is not moving.
You scream, but the voice continues.
You run to the door, pounding on it with fists,
banging your head on it.
As you begin to weaked and slide down the cold hard oak,
the voice fades out of hearing...
You fall to the floor, disoriented, and on the point of madness.
You were talking, it was your voice, you were sure of it,
and yet, your mouth was not moving.
Trying to figure it out, you begin to hear the voice,
your voice, again. Shocked and afraid, you once again pound on the door.
Then with a groan like a large beast, the doors slowly open.
A bright arc of light shoots from the space
in between the slowly opening doors and blinds you...
Waking from your slumber,
you find youself on a cold hard floor,
next to a set of large oaken doors.
The doors are open, and a faint glow of light
from within can be seen.
Some strange, magnetic force attracts you to the doors.
They seem to be the biggest and thickest doors you have ever seen.
You get up, and stand in the doorway,
peering at what lies one step ahead.
You can make out nothing on the other side,
except a faint bluish glow of light.
A complete silence fills the room,
ahead and behind you. You can hear nothing,
not even your breathing.
It is as if someone dropped a blanket of silence on you
from above. One second you can hear fine,
the next second, nothing.
Then, a song beings, low at first,
then steadily growing louder.
You find the voice to be familiar,
but you are unable to put a name to it.
You embrace the warm words,
and slowly walk towards the faint glow on the other side...
"I have memory and awareness
But I have no shape or form
As a disembodied spirit
I am dead and yet unborn..."
