The following is not a review, it is an explanation of the gameplay and a warning to potential importers.
Three words: Waste of money. Three more:Waste of time. I could go on but I won't. Ok, first of all let it be known that the game may be semi-enjoyable for someone fluent in Japanese, for those of us with little to no Japanese ability the game is an utter waste of time. Unless of course you are content with staring at the pretty graphics and playing a boring battle(ala Shining Force) every now and then(read: every 20 minutes or so). You see, there is no exploration. The game progresses like this: People talking(fully voiced, unskipable), you are given the choice of what you want to say, more talking, still more, then after all the talking a battle. I'll be honest with you, I did not play much of the game because simply, it bored me to near sleep. No lie, I nearly fell asleep while "playing" it. Maybe if you can understand what everyone is saying it'll be tolerable but the game is still slow and rather dull. The Loading time is unthinkable and the battles are boring. Before you assume that I just don't like the battle system, let it be know that I thouroghly enjoyed Shining Force. Something about the battle system is just mind numbingly boring, although it is a welcome change from the endless conversations.
So, are there any positive points in the game? Well, the actual battle animations are cool and the game looks great, but those are hardly reasons to justify wasting your money. If you are thinking of importing this and you have no Japanese language skills, stay away. You WILL regret it if you buy it. I'm still kicking myself..... Anyway, check out the pics for an idea of the graphics and battle system.
