"School Uniforms, just another way of Making School more like Jail, and exaples of why School is like Jail."
I think the title gets rid of the purpose of an itroduction so I'm just going to skip it. I think uniforms should not be allowed. Not only are they very uncomforatable they also make no sense. The whole thought process behind school uniforms is that it will stop the segregation of kids in school. Well I'm sorry, Mr. Administrator but you're wrong. No matter what, "nerds" will allways be "nerds" and the goths will allways find a way to stick out. There's no stopping a persons individuallity. They also say that there wont be any discrimination between the rich and poor. So what? Now a kid can feel cool in school but can't eat a full meal because his/er parents have to now buy two sets of clothing. And I would also like to point out that uniforms are not going to get rid of popularity contests. If a kid doesn't socialize with the kids who get drunk and wasted every weekend they sure as hell aren't going to be invited to hang out with them at school just because he wears the same clothes as they do.
And then there's the fact that uniforms [no matter how fancy they are] just define the facsist qualities in School even more. Back in the day [and I mean BACK [1800's]] school was a learning institution. No one forced you to go. School was a betterment of yourself. You chose what you wanted to learn on a basis of your future occupation. School was more like colledge today. Now school is a bunch of things it should never have become:
1. A daycare for adults
2. A Jail with severe helpings of facism
3. Not Enjoyable
4. Competition with other nations/states
So that's it. I don't like the current educational system in america. Good for me. Sorry I wasted your time.
