APRIL 1998 NEWSLETTER VOL. VIII #4

This month's meeting will be held as usual at 7:30 P.M. on April 22nd at Phillipsburg Town Hall in the basement. Entertainment will be a mixed bag.

March 26th the New Jersey Army National Guard with the help of the Phillipsburg Police Department and the Phillipsburg Public Works moved our G.E. locomotive. Everything went very smoothly with much good publicity. Also thanks to Joe's Steak Shop for feeding the crew at no cost, Thanks. On Saturday March 28th our own crew with Glenn Terminelli's equipment moved the flanger and both L&HR cabooses. All equipment moves were supervised by our Chief Mechanical Officer Glenn Terminelli. Much credit goes to Glenn as the moves were made smoothly and safely!! Thanks also to Bernie Kelly for arranging the use of the National Guard equipment.

Jim Anderson has been supervising the securing of the rolling stock. Jim also fabricated a set of wooden brasses for the flanger, they worked fine.

Bob Kirkpatrick and Ken Miller have been doing the engineering for the retaining wall, the town has started the preparation work for this project.

Much help is needed to move the rest of our track supplies from the SMP property and to get ready for our spring opening. Saturday work parties have resumed as well as Monday and Thursday evenings till dusk.

If you have a Red Dot on your address label our records indicate you have not paid your 1998 dues, and this will be your last newsletter.

Our Banquet will be held on Saturday April 25th at Flynn's On The Hill.

On account of time sheets not available at press time, a full accounting of volunteers and hours will be published next month.
