FEBRUARY 1998 NEWSLETTER VOL. VIII #2
This month's meeting will be held as usual at 7:30 P.M. on February 25th at Phillipsburg Town Hall in the basement. Entertainment will be on the C&S.
January brought the luck of good weather (for January) and progress on track work. We have trucked (pun) 2 pair of trucks from Raritan to the site. This will enable us to move the flat car. We have a lead on brasses for the G.E., which will enable us to move it also. Then if we do not locate any 4 1/4 X 8 brasses, the CNJ caboose will loan its brasses to the L&HR flanger so it can be moved. The L&HR cabooses are OK to move at this point.
Once the equipment move is completed, we will work on the retaining wall.
Safety windows are installed in the C&S Ticket Office (looks good).
John Drake has finished the safety windows for the CNJ caboose and a coat of paint will make them ready to install.
Volunteers working on projects in February were: Ed Beers, Alan Bellis, Chas. Bowlby, Bill Frasier, Dave Gandy, Ann Jennings, Jim Mack, Bob Marinelli, Ken Miller, Rocky Rockafellow, Chris Savoni, Jim Stettler, Glenn Terminelli, Pete Terp. Thanks.
Work Parties will continue as needed through March. Please call Ken Miller at 908.689.0472 for information.
LATE NEWS: Steve Powell, owner of SMP Trucking has informed us through his attorney that we must remove our equipment from their property by February 28th. We will try to get a reasonable extension. As a phone call in early January to try and be out in 30 days has been our only notice, Stay Tuned.
