Phillipsburg Railroad Historians, Inc.
55 Sitgreaves Street, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865
MEETING
This month's meeting will be held on September 27th, at 7:30 p.m., at Phillipsburg Town Hall.
We will probably meet in the court room on the first floor, that's where we met the last few months. Thanks go out to member Tom Nemeth for last months slide show. Tom will also do a show this month on STEAMTOWN'S grand opening, it promises to be another great, fast moving show!
MEMBER NEWS
Work on our museum site is moving along slowly, this because of the limited number of volunteers. This past month we acquired 300 ties from Conrail, through a dealer in Indiana and Delaware. Thanks go to members Glenn Terminelli, Dave Griffith, Jim Anderson, Tony Chando, Pete Terp, Pete Delikat and non-members Jeff Chiu and Joe Frick. All the ties were loaded by hand because we had to go to Landsdown, N.J. to pick them up. Originally we were to pick them up between Greens Bridge and the Black Bridge but Conrail picked them all up and took them to Landsdown before we could get to it. While on the subject of work sessions, those remaining this month include this Saturday, the 23rd, and then next Monday and next Thursday. Starting next month, work sessions will only be Monday evenings starting at 4 p.m. and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, starting at 9 a.m. The ties we picked up were not free! We have to pay for them and our treasury is a bit low so I would like to make an appeal to those members who can afford it, to pay their 1996 dues NOW! Thank you Tony Chando for your recent monetary donation.
