MEETING
This month's meeting will be held next Wednesday, May 25th, at 7:30 p.m., in Community Room of Phillipsburg Town Hall. We will have entertainment. Thanks to Pete Terp and Tony Chando for last month's slide show. For those of you members waiting for a copy of the Mike Bednars LVRR book, They are ordered but not here yet. Hopefully I will have them before next Wednesday. I did receive an order of books and videos from another source. The Videos were ordered for members requesting them, the books were mostly for stock. I will bring a selection next Wednesday. If there are any books or videos you want, ASK ME! I will try to get it for you, I can guarantee that the cost will be cheaper than you could buy it for, either by ordering direct, buying at a train show or hobby shop. Best part is, you will be helping our organization. For example, I am trying to get that new Baldwin book from Interurban Press for myself. This book retails for about $60, I think I can get it and sell it for $45, and still make money for our organization!
MEMBER NEWS
ELECTIONS: Last month we elected officers and directors. Pete Terp was reelected president, Jim Anderson was elected vice-president, Steve Winter takes over as secretary, Pete Delikat treasurer, with Rocky Rockafellow, Dave Griffith and Glenn Terminelli being elected directors.
ROLLING STOCK: Conrail has moved L&HR caboose #17, #14 remains. Why it didn't go too, I can't explain. I understood they would both move together. The RDC trucks saved by Carl Loeser et al, have been moved to Ringoes on the BR&W. We need to have them moved to Milford. This weekend we hope to move the two trailers donated to us. We need these for storage of C&S cars currently at the firehouse.
FIREHOUSE REPORT: WE NEED HELP! Volunteers are needed to do repair work, painting, scrapping, glazing…..Jobs can be done on your own time at home. Get involved, this is your organization!
C&S REPORT: After meeting with the Mayor and others, it was decided that the best place to set up the miniature railroad is Walters Park. Keith Muldowney is currently trying to adapt a track plan to the park. Detail work on the C&S caboose, currently at Viking Auto Supply, was completed by member Werner Kryger, thank you Werner!
