COVENANT LOVE

My new record is nearing completion. This area will provide information on the project and on its release. Please check back for most recent news.

Hello, friends!!

My new CD, scheduled for released in June, 1999, will be entitled, COVENANT LOVE.
One theme that has always inspired me in the Bible, was God's covenant with his people - - and His ultimate covenant was in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, promising all believers Eternal life. Life is full of changes. Yet, the Lord's love never changes, and we can feel at peace, knowing he keeps His promises. His COVENANT LOVE is everlasting.

The first song, WORSHIP THE LORD, came out of my trip to Houston, Texas, a few years ago, where I gave three concerts. Have you ever been to Houston in September? Well, it is very hot and humid! In the morning, I had to go out to the car, put on the air conditioning full blast, and let it cool down before I could get into it!

One Friday night, while rehearsing for my concert at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, the pastor had put on the timer for the air conditioner to keep me cool until about 7:00 PM. Well, I rehearsed my program, but then got an idea for the song WORSHIP THE LORD. I decided to take a break from my rehearsal, and write the song. Well, needless to say, it was the hottest place I ever wrote a song in! I kept writing past 7:00PM, when the air conditioning went off!!(No wonder the tempo is so fast on this song - - I must have been trying to stay cool!!) Despite the heat, I enjoyed writing this praise and worship style song. It's a song that can be used on Sunday morning for a Praise & Worship service.

My arranger for all the new songs,is Jimmy Mac, a talented musician who lives in Los Angeles, CA. I also arranged the songs initially, but Jimmy arranged the final versions that you will hear. The most unique aspect of this project, was EAST MEETS WEST - - working with Jimmy living on the West coast, as he would send me the arrangements back to the East coast. All the background vocals were recorded in Los Angeles by two very talented singers, Lonnie Ott, and Melissa Ludolph. Amazingly, they layered their voices, so that on many songs, they sound like 5 or 6 people at once! Lonnie tours with the Billy Graham Crusade. His faith and commitment to the Lord really comes through on his wonderful background singing. Melissa, too, sings from her heart, and adds a beautiful touch with her voice. She is a Christian recording artist, as well.

The final over dubs and mix were done here in the East,at Shore -Fire Recording Studio, Long Branch, NJ. Many recordings are done this way today. A project can be recorded in many different cities, all over the country, and all over the world.

That's it for now.See you for the next "Record Ramblings"!!! God bless you, Nancy

HOME STRETCH FOR COVENANT LOVE

After months of delays, my CD project, "Covenant Love" is finally at the home stretch! All that is left to do is the printing, the cover, and then getting the copies made at the manufacturing companies. I am hoping for a Christmas release - - If not, you'll have copies by the New Year!

We tried a new concept for this CD cover - - instead of taking my picture in the studio, we did the photo shoot outside. For all of you who live on the Jersey Shore, we chose Sandy Hook, Gateway National Park, for the setting. I wanted a more natural look this time - - when I think of God's love for us, I am drawn to Nature - - His presence always seems so much closer out in natural areas. And one of my favorite places to walk, and be with the Lord, is the beach and the ocean. Taking the picture in November wasn't quite as comfortable as it would have been in the warmer months -- but, it was fun, anyway!

I hope you all enjoy the cover, and most of all, the words and music.
Thank you for your love and support of my new project. Thank you for your prayers, too!

I will keep all of you updated on the progress of the CD. We are at the Homestretch!
Love & God bless you, Nancy
