Why didn't he know of a lawyer to whom he could refer me, and who said that lawyer had to be in New Jersey? Was he telling me that the "fix" was in, that no lawyer would be willing to represent me? In any event, that's how it turned out. CCR, by the way, has represented others who have experienced persecution after having participated with CISPES in demonstrating against American policies in El Salvador. Why not me?
