Tips, Tricks, and other fun stuff!
O.K.- Here's the scenario: You're awakened one morning by a little fairy, named Navi. She summons you to the Great Deku Tree, the 'guardian father' of the forest, if you will. He's located directly east of Link's house, but you can't get to meet him until you have a sword and shield... sounds like a dungeon, so get ready! This is the way this walkthrough works- I'll give you lots of information at first, and then make it less and less until I reach just the 'skeleton' of the game.
Kokiri Woods
- Get the Kokiri Sword from the Hole of Z. It says that it's 'on loan', but I have yet to hear of anyone giving it back yet! And while you're back here, don't forget to search for rupees! There's at least ten floating around in the Hole of Z.
- Collect at least -and I cannot emphasize this enough- thirty rupees. Since Hyrule is somewhat capitalistic even if it is a fantasy world, you'll need money for stuff throughout the game. So get it while it's easy!
- Use thirty rupees in the Kokiri shop to buy a Deku shield. You can't get in the tree without it!!! Don't bother to buy anything else, though. You'll find it on the way to the tree and also inside. That's a useful hint-never buy stuff in shops unless you absolutely must. It's too expensive- save those rupees for when you really need them!
- OK-ready? It's time for your dungeon debut!!! Go to the Great Deku Tree at the far right of the Kokiri village and he'll let you in! Note- If you see an enemy, the easiest way to kill it is to Z-target and/or use a jump attack, if you feel skilled enough. As I see it-get 'em as fast and painlessly as you can!! :)
- Inside the Deku Tree, get the Fairy Slingshot and defeat queen Gohma for a container heart and your first Spiritual stone. Enjoy the little film sequence!
- If you haven't thrown the controller across the room by now, it's time to explore the vast, wide world of Hyrule!! Don't forget to grab the fairy Ocarina from Saria as you leave.
Hangin' Around in Hyrule
- As you enter Hyrule field, a big owl, Kaepora Gaebora, greets you. Listen to what he says, and then head north to Hyrule Castle Market, where you'll get some new info. Here's where I like to deviate from my quest a bit. There are so many great games in the market, so if you have enough time (or you're not too impatient like I was the first time around!), you might be able to win a few valuable things.
- You now need to sneak into the castle and talk to the Princess of Destiny, Zelda. However, a little girl named Malon (who bears a striking resemblance to Marin in 'Link's Awakening') complicates things a little. If you wait until it's dark out, she'll meet you right outside the castle gate and give you a Weird Egg. You need to use that to wake Talon,(or Tarin? Remember?) her father. If you do you'll be able to figure out a good way into the castle. And I'm not going to give that away to you, either. It's pretty cool how you get in, though, so I will give you just one hint. Look for as many Triforces as you can, climb on all rough walls, and avoid the guards at all costs! Have fun doing it, too. This is probably one of the easiest parts of the game!!!
- After Impa gives you the melody 'Zelda's Lullaby', she'll lead you out of the village and tell you to head towards Kakariko village, her hometown. Although it's just over the bridge, there's something that (in my opinion) is fundamental to conquering the dungeon that you absolutely must do first. Like the Wild West of Hyrule? Get ready- it's time for your first visit to Lon Lon Ranch!
Lon Lon time at Lon Lon Ranch
- Howdy, pardner! When you enter the ranch, go inside of the building to your left. Talon's sleeping in there (of course) but if you awaken him, he'll ask you to play his Cucco game. But how can poor little Link tell which cuccos are which in only thirty seconds? It's simple. See that space between the stairs and the table? All you have to do is before you talk to Talon, grab all of the cuccos and throw them back there. They'll stay there while you play, and so the only three cuccos out during the game will be the Super cuccos!!! Pretty wicked, huh? Don't forget to grab your prize!
- Now for the real reason you came here.... Malon, Talon's daughter, is standing in the middle of the corral. Talk to her, and when she mentions music, whip out your trusty ocarina. She'll teach you 'Epona's Song', which you need to finish the game. Now you're ready to go to Kakariko village! But wait...is that a message from Navi? Maybe you'd better pay a little visit to Saria.
Link and Saria, Sitting in a Tree...Literally!
- At Navi's request, head back home to the Kokiri forest. After talking to a few people, you'll find that Saria is in her 'usual place'-like that really helps, anyway. What they mean, though, is that she's waiting for you in the Sacred Forest Meadow. Time to go to the Lost Woods!
- In the woods, listen to what Kaepora Gaebora has to say. Follow the sound of the music to the Sacred Forest Meadow. Beat the Wolfos, and head back to see Saria and learn her song! Now you're really ready for the next dungeon.
Kickin' Back in Kakariko Village
- Cute town, huh? There's really not much to do here yet-at least in the center of town. However, there is a graveyard... And there's a really important item or two there that you need to proceed to the next area. So head to the graveyard, but first make sure it's dark out! (That's the only time you can rob graves, you dirty little thief!)
- In the graveyard, find a grave in the first row with lots of flowers. When you pull it back, it reveals a hole. Hop in and open the chest- a Hylia Shield!!! Saved you 80 rupees right there.
- Now, go to the very back of the graveyard, where the royal tomb is. Stand on the Triforce symbol and play 'Zelda's Lullaby"....Duck and cover!!! Don't go in the hole yet, though. Read the gravestone on the left and kill the Poe that pops out. Talk to the spirit that's left, and then go in the main grave.
- This one's pretty tough so I'll lead you through it. Kill the keeses in the first room and then proceed. See those brownish things? Do NOT go near them! They're ReDeads, and not only do they paralyze you, they kill you too. Instead, run as fast as you can through the swamp gases and stuff.
- Read the wall plaque in the burial chamber. You'll learn 'the Sun's Song', which changes night to day and vice versa. There's also another use to the song. Use it to paralyze the ReDead so you can slip past them on your way back to town!
- Ok-now it's time to get serious. As you re-enter the main part of town, play "the Sun's Song' to change it back to daytime. Go talk to the guy inside of Impa's house, and when you're done, talk to the lady near the cucco pen if you want. This is a neat little side quest that will be really useful for the next dungeon! In fact, it's so important that I'll put it right here!
- The cucco lady tells you that all of her cuccos have escaped. Link to the rescue! Find all of her cuccos in the town and she'll give you a Magic Bottle. It's sort of fun to find them all, but if you really want to spoil the game, that's fine- the locations are all on the 'special quests' page, which you can link to from my main page.
- Once you've gotten your bottle, you might want to go get it filled up with milk back at Lon Lon Ranch. Either way, though, to proceed to the next, uh, area of interest, you need to talk to the guy at the gate to Death Mountain. Show him Zelda's letter and he'll let you past! Mr. Hero...heh. I'd like to see him save Hyrule! And he can take that spear...well, we won't go there.
- Go through the gate, and head towards the Death Mountain trail!!
Climb Every Mountain
- O. K., this is tough, so brace yourself! Head up Death Mountain, avoiding the nasty little red tektites. They hurt! Follow the signs and path until you reach Goron City. Enter there.
- When you enter Goron City, talk to the first goron on your right. Then, climb out to the little circular platform in the center of the city and talk to the goron there.(It's ok if you fall off- it's just that what he says is sort of cute.) Now, jump down. Don't forget to use that Control Stick!!
- Stand on the 'plush' carpet in front of the sealed chamber. Play 'Zelda's Lullaby' on your Ocarina to be allowed access to the chamber.
- Go inside, and after talking to Darunia, play 'Saria's Song' for him on your Ocarina. You'll be surprised!
- He will give you the Goron's Bracelet. Now you can pick up Bomb Flowers- you're ready to move on now. When you leave Goron City, make a very sharp right. See that single Bomb Flower on the ledge? Toss it over the edge to blow open the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern.
Dealing with Dodongos
- You might want to fill your bottle(s) with Lon Lon milk and/or a fairy or two, since there are many places to get hurt in this dungeon. Other than that, it's fairly straightforward and you probably won't need much help getting through it. I'll just give you some pointers to help you out.
- When you enter, use a Bomb Flower to blow open the second, inner door.
- Go to all of the open doors first. There's a pretty set order of rooms for this dungeon, so I don't think you'll really have a problem getting stuck or anything.
- To throw a bomb or Bomb Flower, you must be moving! In the room with the tiny ledge that you must hit with a Bomb Flower to pass, wait until it's almost exploding to throw it.
- To kill a Lizalfos, use Z-targeted jump attacks.
- Throw bombs into the eyes of the Dodongo skull to pass through the jaw.
- Boss-King Dodongo. While running towards Dodongo (just like in 'Legend of Zelda'!) throw a bomb into his open mouth and stab or jump attack him while he's stunned. Good Luck!
Link, the Little Fairy Boy
- Now that you have bombs, you can blow up the rocks that block the path to the summit of Death Mountain. Head on up!
- After climbing the wall to the top of the volcano, blow up the rock to the left of the 'cave'. DO NOT talk to Kaepora Gaebora yet!
- Enter the cave you blew open to meet one of the Great Fairies of Magic. She'll give you a good thing- a charged Spin Attack and your very own Magic Meter! Oh, and if you get a chance, you should head to Hyrule castle and get Din's Fire from that Great Fairy just beyond the entrance. It's required to finish the game! Ugh..just like gas-one more thing to watch and refill endlessly! Actually, if you're really in a fix, kill some ReDeads. They always give magic!
- Now, talk to Kaepora Gaebora and grab on to his talons! As Shorty said in 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom', 'Hang on to your potatoes, Link-we're going for a ride!'
- When you're dropped off on Impa's roof, calculate your jump down so you land on the little awning. Enter the cow's stall through the little door to grab the Heart Piece- it's your only chance to do it, so save your game before the ride just in case.
Something Smells Fishy...
- Upon Saria's request, head towards the Zora's River. Follow it north to reach Zora's Domain. By the way- you can use the cuccos along the way to grab the two heart containers on the river! When you reach the waterfall, stand on the little plaque and play 'Zelda's Lullaby' to get them to open it up for you. Now, you can enter Zora's Domain.
- When you enter, talk to King Zora. Problem-Ruto, King Zora's daughter, is missing. Of course, Link, being the nice guy that he is (and he really wants that stone, too) decides that he's going to help her. But there's some really important stuff that he has to do first.
- To the left of King Zora's chamber is a little tunnel with a lone Zora at the end. This is the Diving Game, and Link must win it to proceed. Talk to the Zora, and give him the rupees so that you can play. The object is to dive and collect all of the rupees that he throws. Everybody has a different strategy for this one- I personally prefer to stop so that my shadow's directly above the rupee, and then I dive. To each their own! Either way, go get the Silver Scale from the Zora after you win.
- See that little cave-like thing just under the water after the Diving Game? That's a portal to Lake Hylia. That's your next destination before the dungeon, so dive down and through the warp portal right now.
- When you emerge, you should see a bottle under the water just after where you came up. Grab the bottle and head back to Zora's Domain via the portal.
- When you return, equip the bottle and read the letter. It's from Ruto...
- Now, go talk to King Zora again. He'll help you out. However, to get into Jabu-Jabu's belly, you'll need one more little thing...a fish! To get a fish, go either to the shallow water where there are fish swimming (in Zora's Domain, of course) and use an empty bottle to catch it. Or, you could go into one of the secret holes throughout Hyrule. In the little puddles are some very easy-to-catch fish! Don't forget to fill up the remainder of your bottles, too. This dungeon is pretty difficult!
- When you enter Zora's Fountain, don't go to Jabu-Jabu yet. Instead, go past the dead tree to your right and follow the river until you see the little peninsula with a sign and two rocks. Place a bomb in between the two rocks, and enter the cave you just made. Talk to the Great Fairy to get Farore's Wind!
- Now you're ready to enter Jabu-Jabu's belly. When you get up to him, give him the fish, and he'll suck you in! As before, I'll give you some of the little pointers of the dungeon.
- Have you ever gotten a piece of popcorn stuck on your uvula? Isn't it the worst feeling? It's one of the most sensitive parts of the mouth. So if you hit one with a Deku Seed, just think...
- Use Ruto as a weight when you need her.
- Kill the tentacles with your boomerang. The best way to do it is to Z-target them, and just shoot away.
- Take your time- I can't stress this enough!
- This dungeon's small, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. The only reason that it's difficult is the electrical enemies. Don't touch them!
Over the hill....
- Ready to get old? I didn't think so, but just like in real life, you really don't have a choice! After you get the Spiritual Stone, head back to Hyrule Castle to find... I'm not going to give this away-it's too cool!
- Dive into the moat to get the Ocarina of Time (after the little video sequence) and race to the Temple of Time! Oh, and if you didn't do any of the things that you wanted to do, don't fret. Later on, you'll be able to return to the past!
- Stand on the red carpet in the Temple of Time and play the 'Song of Time'. Enjoy the scene! That's about all you can do for now...
This covers the first part of the game. If there's anything that you don't understand, or that you just need a little bit more detail, let me know!
And if you're being like me and trying to finish the game in record time(it took me two or three days, ten or so guys!), now would be a great time to save, turn the Nintendo off, and divert your eyes for a few. Really. It gets pretty intense from here on out, and I can guarantee that you'll be hooked! I learned that the hard way- my parents screaming, 'is that all you ever do?' and stuff like that! Then again, it's worth it! Well, I'm rambling again, so back to the game!
Kakariko...again?
- Yep, that's right... it's back to Kakariko for you! Sick of it yet? It's sort of fun after awhile, though, and it's changed a lot since you've been here! But before you even go there, you should probably get Epona, who I've mentioned in the special quests section.
- When you enter Kakariko Village, head straight for the graveyard and go into the little shack that once belonged to Dampé. Read his diary that talks about a springy thing that he buried with him... it's off to his tomb for you!
- Once inside the tomb, he'll challenge you to a really easy race, the prize of which is the Hookshot! You should have no trouble winning it. This is one of my favorite 'c' items (my absolute favorite is Din's Fire) and I'm sure you'll find tons of cool uses for it. Now, however, you need to use it to access the next dungeon- The Forest Temple.
Leafing the Ordinary
- When you arrive at the Forest Temple, kill both Wolfos and then climb the vines on the wall. This will get you a key, allowing you access to a room in the temple. That's the hardest part of this particular temple- you need to grow accustomed to finding and using keys! Therefore, I'll leave a list that will help you of all of the locations of things. However, I don't really want to spoil this temple for you!
- Now, enter the temple and get ready for a challenge! Some pointers-
- Get all of the keys, even if you don't think you'll need them.
- Shoot the paintings of the Poes.
- Poes hate arrows.
- Kill everything and anything that gets in your way!
-BOSS:PHANTOM GANONDORF
- Ganon's a tough boss, but with enough constitution you'll have no problem nailing him! When he rides out of the paintings, shoot him with an arrow while he's still white. Shoot him enough, and he'll dismount for the second part of the battle. I'm sure that you know how to play baseball- it's time to put those dreaded gym-class skills to some good work! When Ganon fires an energy bullet at you, smack it back at him with your Master Sword until he's stunned, then jump attack him while he's down. Hit him enough, and he's a goner! Collect the Container Heart and then advance into the warp portal for the Medallion of the Forest.
Getting Fired Up!
- After leaving the Temple of Time (of course backtracking for the "Prelude of Light"), Navi suggests that you pay a visit to the Gorons atop Death Mountain. Since Navi's always right, you should follow her advice!
- However, when you get up there, you're in for a little surprise! No gorons? Except for the one that's rolling around!
- Although you can probably guess how to solve this puzzle yourself, I'll give it away. You need to hit him with a bomb to stop him. He'll give you a Goron's tunic if you talk to him for a bit!
- Now, head to the back of Darunia's chamber. Note- make sure that all of your bottles contain Fairies. You may need them during your temple (if you're going for triple zeros like I did!)
- Finally, hookshot across the bridge to reach Sheik's "area", where he'll teach you the "Bolero of Fire". Enjoy his little philosophy lesson, and then head into the temple- probably the hardest one yet! Good luck-that's all I can say! Here's some hints:
- Be really, really creative with those bombs. You never know what you'll use them for next!
- Keep the hookshot handy, too. It's invaluable in this dungeon!
- In Hyrule, rust disintegrates when hit with a hammer.
- Listen to the freed Gorons- their advice is valuable!
- Finally, use the fires to your advantage.... maybe to move to a higher level...
- BOSS-Volvagia
- The best weapons for nailing Volvagia are the Megaton Hammer and the Fairy bow.
- When Volvagia comes out of a hole and sticks his head up, whack him as hard as you can with the Hammer. Keep doing this and it'll eventually kill him!
- The other way to kill Volvagia is to wait for his flying attack and then nail him with an arrow. Either way, he's a pretty easy boss, and you'll get him quickly! Don't forget to grab the Heart Container! Good job!
Care for a Zora-sicle?
- Navi, that eternal pain in your butt, tells you about an "arctic wind" being exuded from Zora's Domain. (Frozen fishsticks? Mmmmmm!) Of course, since she's basically the voice of the programmer who wrote the game, you find that the next medallion has some connection to Zora's Domain. Of course!
- Ok, now this is pushing it. Check out King Zora.... make you a little cold? Anyway, this is one that's not really that easy to figure out yourself, so I'll tell you where to go.
- Remember Jabu-Jabu, in whose stomach you found the Spiritual Stone of Water? Well, he's now replaced by an iceberg... something smells a little bit fishy here! Now, look to your map. See the "cave"-shaped thingy towards the back of Zora's fountain? That's where you want to go.
- This nasty looking little cave is the Ice Cavern- where you'll find the Iron Boots and the "Serenade of Water" necessary to enter the next dungeon. Since there's no getting around this area, you might as well make the most of it! Make sure you have at least one bottle full of potion and at least two empty bottles before you go in, though. You'll need them inside!!!!
- Now, head on in. This is a really, really easy dungeon, so I'll only give you a few hints. If I missed any, mail me!
- First and foremost- steer clear of any living thing that looks cold. They often can "freeze" you, which really hurts!
- Collect blue fire in your bottles so as to melt the red ice.
- Use your head in solving the block puzzles.... remember, the solution is usually so simple that it perplexes....
- Kill the Ice Wolfos like any other Wolfos.
- Make sure you have at least one bottle still full of red fire when you leave.. use this to melt King Zora.
Wet 'n' Wild!
- After getting the "Serenade of Water" from your good friend Sheik, you're ready to go! Make sure you have tons of potion and/or fairies. This is a really, really tough dungeon! You'll need to use your head here! Actually, when I have more time, I hope to get a page with complete dungeon directions on it. But until then, if you're really stuck, mail me! Ok- I think you know the drill by now- here's the tips and hints for the dungeon!
- When you're ready to enter, play the "Serenade of Water" and when you get to the lake, jump in with your iron boots on!
- To raise the portal, shoot the diamond-shaped thingy above it.
- This is probably the most important point of the dungeon-I had to erase about an hour of play to fix it. Do NOT use your keys unless you really must!!!! And don't raise the water level before you've explored all of the possible areas on a particular level, or else you might be in trouble!
- Use your Bow and Arrow wherever you can!
- Kill anything and everything, or risk getting killed yourself!
- Don't forget, "Zelda's Lullaby" corresponds with Triforce symbols!
- In the dungeon, you'll find the Longshot. This is absolutely essential to the completion of the dungeon- so don't miss it! It works just like the Hookshot.
- BOSS-Parasitic Amoeba
- This thing is nasty-make sure you're completely stocked with at least three fairies and a Green potion! You'll need it here.
- Do you remember Bio class? Well, if you do, you'll remember that the nucleus is the most important part of the cell for reproduction, protein synthesis, and more. So basically, slamming an amoeba's nucleus is roughly the cellular equivalent of kicking someone really hard in the groin......see the point here? You need to nail the nucleus to injure the amoeba!
- Use the longshot to target the nucleus and draw it up out of the cytoplasm. Then, nail it. A charged spin attack works really well when it's going after you, but when you've drawn it towards yourself, try a Jump Attack if you're feeling daring! That'll really hurt him!
- Try not to let him seize you- it kills you really quickly!
- If he comes after you, you can do one of two things- you can risk Spin-Attacking the nucleus, or you can do what I prefer..... run like hell!
- After you've nailed his nucleus enough, he'll do something really gross- and he's dead! You've done it! You're finished one of the most difficult dungeons in the game!
Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!
- So, you think you're ready for the fifth dungeon, the Shadow Temple, huh? Well, as you may recall your elementary-school classmates saying, "you got another think comin' up"!!! You're not nearly ready yet-in fact, the item in question is required to even enter the dungeon! It's Kakariko Village's elusive Lens of Truth, and is honestly (no pun intended!) a really fun item to use when you can. It's located in the well in Kakariko, but there's one little problem- you can't get in there as an adult. But don't jump yet- you must complete one more task in the village before you "shrink" again. Do you remember the windmill? With the crazy organ grinder inside? You'll need to go back there and talk to the guy to get the "Song of Storms"- needed to enter the pseudo-dungeon in the well. Here we go again!
- As an adult, pay a visit to the organ grinder inside the windmill. He'll tell you a little story, which you must sit through.
- When he's finished, whip out your ocarina to start a little sequence. He'll teach you the "Song of Storms". Now you're ready to go!
- Make sure you fill up with potions and/or fairies before leaving town.
- Now, play on your ocarina to return to the Temple of Time!!!
- As a kid, you're now ready to enter the "well of hell", as I like to call it. Make sure, sure you know the "Sun's Song". It's quintessential to the defeat of the ReDeads in this dungeon!!!
- As usual, I'm going to let you figure this out for yourself- just a couple of pointers to lead you on your way!
- Ok, remember the "hidden walls" in the original "Zelda"? Well, hope you do-there are so many of them in here! Always be on your toes looking around here!
- Look before you leap- don't fall through fake floors!!!
- Turn off the water supply ASAP!!!
- To freeze the ReDeads, play the "Sun's Song". This stops them long enough for you to slash 'em up!!!
- The "pseudo-boss" is Dead Hand- a nasty little guy that grabs you so that he can drink your blood. However, it's far easier to hit him if he's captured you..... as I say, six in one hand, a half of a dozen in the other! Either way, you shouldn't have too much trouble nailing him!
- Ok- as soon as you've acquired the Lens of Truth and are finished exploring the bottom of the well, you need to return to the Temple of Time and grow up again. (Hey- who ever said that youth was eternal?) Anyway, you should stock up on faeries before entering the next dungeon-it's nasty!
- Now, play the "Nocturne of Shadows" (which doesn't sound at all like a true nocturne, btw) to return to the Shadow Temple. Now you can enter!
- As usual, I'm just going to give you some nifty little pointers. Later (over Spring Break) I'll put up a complete dungeon page, so for now if you need directions don't hesitate to let me know! Especially with this dungeon- it's hell!
- The very first task in the dungeon is to find the Hover Boots. It's fairly easy when you learn the general concepts of the dungeon.
- This dungeon is tricky because nothing in it is what it seems. Just keep on your toes and you'll do fine.
- Use all of your resources whenever you can.
- Keep lots of fairies with you- you'll need them.
- Watch your Magic Meter as if it's going to kill you. Using the Lens of Truth runs it out incredibly quickly.
- The enemies here are among the nastiest in the game, so be really careful. As with all Undead, you can freeze them with the "Sun's Song". It only lasts until you stab 'em, so be careful!
- Boss-Bongo Bongo
- Ok, here goes. This boss, pardon me, is a real pain in the butt. He's really, really, hard to kill. So if you're aiming for the "triple zeros" club, like I did (and got, mind you), bring lots of fairies, and be prepared to hit "reset"- you will get killed on your first try or two most likely.
- To kill him, you need three things: the Lens of Truth, the Fairy Bow, and your sword, preferably Biggorons'. Stock up on arrows before you even attempt to kill this boss!!!
- What you need to do is first focus on him (behind the big hands) with your Lens of Truth. Now, shoot both hands. When you do, they'll be immobilized, forcing him to expose his vulnerable spot- the red thing that sticks out at you. Now, stun it with an arrow and jump attack!
- This is the procedure. You need to repeat this about ten or so times, and he's a goner! Good luck! Once you get it, lean back and heave a huge sigh of relief. This guy is actually the hardest boss in the game!
Feel the Spirit!!
Well, this is it.... the last regular dungeon! Can you believe it? Seems like you just started, huh? Oh, well. Now's a great time to save your game, turn the Nintendo off, and go for a health walk. If you're blood pressure's not high by now....! Enjoy!
Anyway, it's not too bad.
- Before you do anything, refill!! Faeries, potions, arrows, and everything else. You'll need all of it!
- Now, go to Gerudo valley.. and prepare. (Ever seen "The Trojan Women"? Tehehe!) They're really nasty.
- As soon as they see you, the Gerudo throw you in jail. Nasty! But you have an item that'll get you out.... See that wooden awning? ;)
- When you get out, you have to sneak around. But here's a little tip... you can shoot them when they're not looking. Just nail 'em in the butt....and they're down for the count! Of course, it's not real nice to hit a lady....;)
- Now, sneak your way through the fortress. Your goal is to rescue the four carpenters locked away in Gerudo cells. But be careful! You have to fight a Gerudo to rescue each one, and they're rough!
- Once you've freed all four, the Gerudos will let you pass through their city as many times as need be. Don't miss the heart piece on the top of the fortress! Hover boots are a perfect aid. So is the longshot! You really will need it for this dungeon, though.
- Now's the nasty part. You have to go through the desert, but it's rough! There are two trials that face you. First is the "river of sand". You have to hookshot across.
- This one's not too bad, but it's still somewhat difficult. It's called "Phantom Guide" because what you do is follow this little Poe guy through the sand. Use your Lens of Truth atop the building, and it's self-explanatory from there.
- You've finally made it! You're there, but before you go in make sure to get Nayru's Love from the Great Fairy's fountain. Blow a hole in the desert's side where you can.
Inside the Spirit Temple
- As soon as you try to enter, Sheik pops up as usual to teach you the "Requiem of Spirit". Memorize it immediately!!! You'll need it practically as soon as you get in.
- When you enter, you will see two "cobras" perched along the wall. If you read them, you will come to the understanding that time travel is essential to the completion of this temple. Therefore, what you need to do upon entering is save your game, read the left cobra plaque, and finally play "Prelude of Light" on your Ocarina to return you to the Temple of Time.
- Now, warp back in time by placing the Master Sword in the receptacle. Play your Ocarina ("Requiem of Spirit") to warp back to the Spirit Temple as a child and then talk to Nabooru.
- Nabooru, being the big, tough girl that she is, is way too big to fit through that little opening in the temple. It's Link to the rescue yet again!
- Work your way through the left side of the dungeon as a child, then get the silver gauntlets. You'll need them to enter as an adult.
- Now as an adult, return to the Spirit Temple and lift the boulder blocking the right side of the temple. Now, search that and beat the boss!!!
Boss:Twinrova
- Since Twinrova's your last boss, I'm not going to give as many hints as usual..just enough to get you by! With her, I found that the true fun lies in kicking her witch butt ;).
- Always remember the rule with RPG elements. The rule of opposites...that is, counter fire with ice and ice with fire.
- Another RPG secret is to always use the items you find in that dungeon to beat the boss. This certainly holds true here!
- Good luck!
