This is the 6th Shims Green Day Club Newsletter. Our club is growing pretty fast, and that's an awsome thing, and if all of you would at least tell ONE freind that would help a lot, so if you will please tell all your freinds about this club it would be greatly appreciated. Do you guys remember the first newsletter? How we had a short fiction story that Heather wrote? And how it was a to be continued? Well Nicci (Potatomen@aol.com) finished it for us. If you have any storys you would like to send to us please do. It could be fiction/concert reviews/dreams whatever as long as it is Green Day related. And if you have true storys, like about when you met Green Day please submit those also. Well on with the newsletter! ====================================================== Green Day News This is Green Day related in a way, since Billie Joe Armstrong is in this band and he is in Green Day so it's semi-related! That new Pinhead Gunpowder CD was released a few days ago so if anyone bought it and would like to write an album review for us please send it in to ShimGDclub@hotmail.com and it will be used for a future newsletter. Also in actual Green Day news, the 'Nice Guys Finish Last' single will be out March 3rd. Also, Green Day helped Cinderblock celebrate their tenth anniversary with a two hour set a few days ago during a secret show. (Billie's wife Adrienne used to work part-time at Cinderblock as a silk-screener until their second child Jakob was born) The festivities where broken up by the Oakland police after locals complained about the noise. A double-live CD is also being released but it might just be a combination of the live CD's the band has already released as imports. This live CD will more than likely only be available as in import as well. Green Day was runner-up for "Best Band" in Circus Magazines "Jerry Awards" which are voted by the fans. The band was beat out by Korn in that category but they would take home the "Best Punk Band" award. Also, in Canada's Chart magazine, Green Day received a "Best Live Show" award (for Edgefest) and nimrod was voted the #7 CD of the year. SPIN magazine is trying to get Billie Joe to do an interview for an upcoming issue, no word yet on whether or not he has accepted the request. ====================================================== News From Members Well there isn't any news from any members this week, if you have ANY Green Day news or Green Day related news please send it to ShimGDClub@hotmail.com and you will be fully credited. ====================================================== Club and Page news Well, there is kinda a lot of things going on right now for the club! We (Me and Heather) Are thinking about making membership cards. How this would work is, if you want one, send in 3 bucks to the club and we will make you a personalized Membership card, so you can show it off to your friends and it will make you feel cool :) But before we actually do this, we want to make sure you people actually want them. OK i like em all for diff reasons like Tre he's funny and Mike is awesome and Billie Joe is like an idol (he's just cool) but my fav member is Mike. so what if he happens to be a little accident prone he kicks some serious ASS. I actually don't know why I like him so much I just think he's really awesome. and I just got dumped over the phone in the middle of that last sentence so if the rest sounds kinda corny please excuse me. 2.What is your favorite album? My favorite album is 1039 smoothed out slappy hours. its really cool. Its got awesome songs on it and I like the sound. but I mean its hard to say that I like it the best because all of greendays albums are cool. They have kickass music and I like um all. 3. Favorite song? My fav song I would have to say scattered. It brought me and my best friend back together after a huge fight. I mean this was a fight like I wanna die I lost my bestfriend im gonna cry about it a lot fight. I wrote acoule poems about my little fight.
