We have 3 black/gray granite simulated consoles, with recessed track lighting above and multi-position, lumbar controlled, "911" chairs. Our computer system is a State of the Art AS/400 running 24/7 churning 3 Gigs of data on"Rumba" a Computer Aided Dispatch system. (Software package designed by ASTRA Software") Each console is equiped with a 911 Rockwell PSAP handset with it's own 5" monitor. As well as Digital playback of all Telephone communiques recieved at each workstation. Our Telephones, supplied by Executone, are capable of receiving over 40 calls per minute(....it's all in the wrist!) We each have two 15" SVGA Monitors, one used as a real time status board, displaying such info as: In Service on the Air, Out of Service, Enroute, On Scene, etc., etc. And the other, allows us to enter in Address info and work on incidents by looking up a Suggested Rresponse depending on the call type and an address History, Key Numbers, Cross Street, Hydrant Locations and a myriad of minutia that'd keep me writing all day, but you get the Idea. A fourth work station is in the works for possible expansion....and has been for a long, long time.(manpower, manpower, manpower, I can't say it enough!)
