big bop personal stats.
big bop began (on accident) as a result of hours of experimental recording
by DIZZY LINDBURGH (guitar, keys, vocals, devices, etc). After much contemplation
Lindburgh contacted his fellow experimental guru DAMIEN BOURBON (Guitar, keys,
devices) and proposed the idea of a band that would take part in every genre
they felt was worthwhile and a band that would produce whatever it thought
was quality. Thus, big bop was born. Initial sessions gave birth to tracks filled
with low fi cheezy synth noise, Walls of atonal guitar, and hours of rythm-less
imrpovisational music. Additional musicianship, advice, and secret activities were
provided by STEVE MOB, NATHANIEL EVEROUX, SOUTHPAW, and a host of others. Over
the next couple months Big Bop recorded over 15 hours of music. Though perhaps
none of it was fit to be listened to by anyone but the band itself, big bop decided
to go ahead and produce a compact disk release. In July 1998 "No Such thing as Music"
was finished. Featuring 70 minutes of music and 20 tracks, "NStaM" was as challenging
a listening as anything anyone has ever done. And that's not a positive statement.
