Now:

1. Hold the styrofoam ball away from you, slightly above your head, with the X facing you.

• First rotate 1/4 of a turn to the left. Look at the ball.

• Next rotate another 1/4 of a turn. Look at the ball again.

• Continue to rotate by 1/4 turns, looking at the ball and

3. Make another full turn around.

This time rotate only 1/8 turn.

Look at the ball after each 1/8 turn.
 
 

4. Rotate again, demonstrating a full moon, gibbous moon,

quarter moon, crescent moon, and new moon.
