Simply made from a tree,
Is the reflection of my soul,
The true essence of me.
Whether it's my own rhyme
That your eyes read,
Or somebody else's wisdom,
Remember it was to satisfy my need.
My need to capture time
And convince it to stand still,
To capture a wisp of my life,
To explain the dreams I covet to fulfill.
My need to lay out to you
What I'm truly like, deep inside,
And show to you how,
How I lived and thought and felt,
My own unique feelings and thoughts and life,
I explain my own "Wonder Years"
And show to you how I was ripe.
And now you may see how prominent these lines are
To aiding my growing up and remembering the good times,
For soon now these days will be past,
And all I will have left are these pages of rhymes.
