I went to Toys ‘R' Us the other day. I even got all excited, my mom told me, and I just couldn't wait to see all the great toys I had wanted so bad when I was little. When we got there, I was appalled and outraged to find that nearly half the store was missing! I'm honest! Where they used to have those really neat outdoor plastic houses was the video game section. The part that used to have all the neat, brightly coloured bikes had cradles and cribs. And not to mention the fact that what was there, in place of all the cute, innocent toys of yore, they had commercialized toys, from movies and tv shows. There was a whole corner of the store devoted to Star Wars! I could hardly believe it.
Then, to go along with the whole theme of the collapse in toy selling, there's Kids 'R' Us. Kids ‘R' Us used to sell little dresses with layers of ruffles underneath, and purple coats with fake fur collars. Now they sell smaller versions of what teenagers wear. You don't get to be a kid forever! Why would you want to dress ten years older? I don't get it! So, in short, I am severely disappointed in the ‘R' Us stores, and I hope they can get their act in gear and get some kid stuff on there. Where else am I supposed to smile and recall my childhood? Really.
