Adhesive Preference
9-9-99
I have noted much controversy over which adhesive works best, and so to clear up the situation, I've decided to dedicate a whole page to it.
After reading the arguments for and against each adhesive, take the survey to see if other people agree with you or not.
Also, if you have any arguments I didn't mention, let me know through the guestbook, this is one episode I plan to edit.
Duct Tape
pros:
- Can be used anywhere for anything.
It's silver! That's an awesome colour!
cons:
- Can and will stick to itself.
Crazyglue(also includes wood glue and rubber cement)
pros:
- It's permanent, which means that once it's there, it's there forever.
- Has a really cool name.
- Also known as liquid duct tape
cons:
- This stuff sticks your fingers together, and this makes it difficult to perform a number of everyday functions.
- It also dries really fast, which could be a bad thing if you're trying to adjust something's position.
Velcro
pros:
- Allows for resticking, creating an environment friendly alternative to other adhesives.
- Makes a really neat "thwack!" noise when you pull it apart.
- Makes a really cool fashion statement on shoes and/or clothes.
cons:
- Velcro is weak in limited quantities, and while throwing yourself (when dressed in a velcro jumpsuit) against a Velcro covered wall is a fun thing, throwing yourself against a comparatively small velcro square is not.
- And although it is restickable, after some time, this is no longer the case.
Safety Pins (alright, so it's not really an adhesive, but it sticks things together, doesn't it?)
pros:
- Won't ruin your cloth when used for a clothing adhesive.
- Exceedingly stylish, especially in larger sizes.
- Fixes buttons without the bother of learning how to sew.
cons:
- Safety pins have a tendency to come undone at inopportune times....
So there you have it folks, arguments for and against each of these sticky substances. Now take the survey below.
