I was a 17 year old girl who could not provide my baby with what he deserved, it would have been selfish of me to bring him up, so I went through a Catholic Priest, Father Ron, of St. Hiacynth Church in Westbrook, Maine, he located the adoptive couple. I was told they lived 'up north' and their first names are Don and Irene. My maiden name was Duchaine, I gave birth to him at the Westbrook hospital. He was the only child born there on that beautiful first day of spring. Don and Irene met my mom, Marcia three days after his birth and brought him to their loving home. I have a picture of him when he was 2 1/2 months old, and I also wrote a letter to Don and Irene for them to keep. They told me in their letter that as soon as they believed he was old enough to understand that they would tell him and give him the option to meet me when he was 18. He is now 23 years old and I think of him often and would love to see what a beautiful young man he has become, but only if he agrees.
