New Song

These are the words to my new song
I’m not all that good with words
Every time I try to make them all rhyme
It’s the worst thing that I’ve ever heard

But this song isn’t really meant to be
About my luck with poetry
It’s to be about how I feel for you
And just what it is you do to me

But I find that words just can’t describe
How deep this feeling runs through me
How I find myself drowning in your eyes
And feeling as though that’s how it ought to be

Some days I think about
Telling you exactly how I feel
Wishing so much you’d say you loved me too
And I can almost think that it’s real

But that’s not the way it is in this world
I know that it’s all hopeless fantasy
For even though you are my moon and my sky
You and I are not meant to be

So this is the end of my new song
I’m not sure what else I can say
I’d leave you a closing word of wisdom or two
Except that I don’t seem to know any
