TOURNAMENT RULES

 

 

Tournament Hours:

All daytime tournaments will be conducted between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Night tournaments will be conducted between the hours of 4:00 PM and Midnight.

 

Weigh-master:

The Weigh-master will be determined by the previous year’s standings. The last place finisher will be appointed as Weigh-master for the current year.

Dick E. will be the Weighmaster for 2010. The Weighmaster duties include:
1. Perform mandatory live well checks before fishing begins. Anyone who arrives Late (after fishing has begun) shall Locate two other club members to perform a live well check before keeping any fish.
2. Supervise all weigh-in duties.
3. Ensure a safe and official start.
4. Complete and submit State reports for each event.
If the Weigh-Master is not present at an event, the Executive Board shall designate an alternate who will assume all duties and privileges of the Weigh Master for that event.
In the case of a claim of foul during any tournament, the Weighmaster will meet with the senior Club officer present, but not involved in the dispute, and a decision shall be rendered. No claim of foul shall be accepted after the close of the official weigh scales. :

 

Tournament Rules:

The Weighmaster shall designate a boat to retrieve any other that has not returned to the launch site by the end of the formal weigh-in time.

Anyone late for a weigh-in (without just cause) shall be penalized at the rate of one pound of their catch per minute, up to maximum of ten minutes. After ten minutes, their total catch is disqualified.

.25 pounds will be deducted for each bass weighed in which is not considered alive by the Weigh Master. A fish is considered alive if, with the gill plates lifted, voluntary movement of the gill plates is visible. The Weigh Master’s decision is final.

All bass must be 12” in length or greater. One courtesy length check will be available, upon request, during the weigh-in. Any attempt to weigh in a short fish will result in automatic disqualification.

No alcoholic beverages will be consumed during tournament hours.

Safe boating conduct must be observed by all participants at all times of tournaments.

Each boat occupant shall wear a Coast Guard approved personal floatation device whenever the boat is operated at greater than head-way speed.

“Non-boater” partners will be selected by random drawing before the tournament trail begins. Swaps may be implemented with the unanimous approval of all participants at each event.

A voluntary “lunker pool” may be established at each event. The participant weighing in the heaviest fish of the day receives the established lunker award. Anyone wishing not to participate, must state that desire BEFORE fishing begins.

Only artificial lures may be used. No live or prepared bait will be permitted, with the exception of pork pieces.

Only one casting, spinning, or spincast rod and reel may be used at any one time. Maximum length, measured from butt of the handle to the tip of rod, shall not exceed eight feet. All other types are prohibited. Other rigs, as specified, may be in the boat, ready for use at any given time.

All bass must be caught alive and in a conventional and sporting manner.

Fishing within fifty yards of another competitor's boat is forbidden.

All fish must be caught from a boat. (I.e.: No fishing from land)

The number one starting boat shall be designated as Environmental Boat, weigh in first, and transport all fish back out for release according to NHF&G Rules

 

End of Year Awards:

All awards will be presented at a post season awards ceremony.

Specific awards will be determined and procured by an awards committee.

Club members will be recognized and awarded for total weight of Largemouth Bass and/or Smallmouth bass in these categories:

-Individual Tournaments

-Total Trail weight, (minus any “throw away” tournaments if applicable)

-1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

-Largest Smallmouth bass of the year

-Largest Largemouth bass of the year
