There are reasons why the USDA requirements must be satisfied. Well know animals respomd differently to various medications. This situation raisies a question of whether wolves and Wolf Hybrids need a different level of potency in rabies vaccines than domestic dogs.

WHAT IF a different degree of potency of the rabies vaccine is necessary to provide the percentage of effectivenes to obtain the USDA approval and licensing of the vaccine for use in these animals?

WHAT IF you and your family and other animals who come in contact with them, contract rabies because of the rabies vaccines, as they do today, don't provide the required level of protective immunity for wolves or hybrids?

When you try to ignore vaccine failures or trying to keep them from become know publicly is useless. 86% of vaccinated dogs and cats required the licensed vaccines from the USDA. At least 80% of unvaccinated controls die after inoculation with live rabies.

Darlene Kobobel owns and operates The Wolf Hybrid Resuce Center. The Wolf Hybrid Rescue Center fail to forbid the commercial breeding or adoption of wolf or wolf hybrids. This center's purpose is to provide shelter and honor life for abandoned and unwanted wolf hybrids.

To support itself, the center relies soley on contributions. At the moment the center is full, they are housing 17 wolf hybrids. Also, it includes a litter of 6 pups. This center needs help to the misunderstood animals. This animals lives with care, comfort, and diginity. FACT: 250,000 pups are born every year, 90% never reach the age of three.

Some things to consider if you want a wolf: (1) As a potential owner are you willing to have this animal for its entire life? (2) Wolves/Wolf Hybrids can live 10-14 years in captivity. (3) They may have difficult time adjusting to the surrounds. (4) They may have endless pacing, weight loss, depression, and grieving are systems to expect. (5) What about vactioning? Most boarding kennels prohibit hybrids. (6) The wolves independent nature may lend them to destroy your furniture and your property.

There are several requirements that you have to meet before you are receiving a wolf hybrid. They are: (1) LAND, (2) FENCING, (3) ENCLOSURES, (4) STRENGTH, (5) GROUND BARRIERS, and (6) GATES.

The wolf biologically doesn't require to live in the wilderness. The reason being is that the wilderness live in absence of living/moving things.

LAND:
You need a certificate signed and notarized by the land owner for giving the hybrid owner permission to build a fenced enclosures to contain the animals on the property. This must be submitted prior to the issuance of the license.
FENCING:
You need to have a comfortable size enclosure for the animal to have sufficient strength to prevent them to escape. Also, this includes pups.
AREA:
The wolf's territory is about 10,000 acres. Captve wolves needs at least a fourth of an acre. That would be 100' X 100'. This area should be enlarged and additional quarter acre for each added wolf.
HEIGHT:
Chain link fencing adjoins the ground in an extended upwards fashion. It should be a minimum of 6 feet with a 2 feet extentsion of lighter weight at the top. Overall height should be an 8 feet.
STRENGTH:
All fence and gates ahould be: 9 guage, 2 in. square, 6' tall chain link.
GROUND BARRIERS:
Concrete should be reinforced with mesh. This should extend 2' vertical into the ground. Also, it should be attached to the base of the chain link to prevent the wolves to dig out.
GATES:
Entrances and exits should have double gates. They should be at least 6' tall. They should have latches that should be secure and lockable.
