The gang except Journey and I are sick. Oh hello. Velma Dinkley speaking. Lemme tell you what happened, how the illness got started and how Journey and I solved the mystery.
I noticed something wrong. Everyone was coming down with something. I thought it was one of those 24-hour bugs. But days later, they were still sick. I went to Journey's apartment to see if she's sick. I never hung around her much. She's going to laugh if she thought that the gang was sick and I needed her help. So I went to her and asked her to help.
I went to her apartment. She was wearing jean shorts and a tank top and sneakers. Her hair was not brushed. Looked like to me that she got out of bed. I told her everything. "Lemme get this straight, The gang is sick and you want my help right?" she said while walking around to get her food. "Yes. I can't do this alone." "Okay, I'll help you. First a murder mystery, now this." I heard Journey mumble to herself.
(Author's note: You can find the murder mystery on her other story with Shaggy and Scooby called NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE)
"Sit down Velma and tell me the whole story." I sat down on the couch and she sat next to me. "Well when the gang was tossing, I thought it was one of those 24 hour things. I waited it out, but it was worse than that a few days later." "I don't what to say, I'm a camera person, not a doctor." "What do you want to do?" "Band together and check things out." "Where do we start?" She had that evil like look on her face. "Oh no. (Low tone) Not one of your evil ideas." I said. "Don't worry. It's fully evil proof." Journey said.
So both of us went to work. We dusted up fingerprints and other evidence. "This is my idea of detective work." I said. "Well, don't get use to it." Journey said. "You solved a real mystery." "Duh, a murder mystery with Shaggy. Since both of them are sick. I can't get a single thing out of them." Then we heard some noises.
"Did you hear that?" I asked. "What?" I covered her mouth. "I hear it. Let's go home before we're toast." "No way. We have to get going. We have to slove this and find a way to make the gang feel better." "Man you're as gutsy as your sister." I said. "I don't stop until the works done." Journey said. "Now come on." She grabbed my hand.
We asked around. Everyone in town is getting sick. Well except a few people. "Everyone is getting sick." Journey said. "Yeah, this place is deserted." "I wish you be serious with me." Journey said. "You're right. Let's put our differences behind us and solve this mystery for the gang's and the town's sake."
Journey and I have our differences and we don't bother with each other. We checked everyone out with illness. "They seem to be worse than I thought." Journey said while looking at one of them. The guy had a blue face and vomiting constantly. After, we looked at the guy, we looked at the gang. They seem all right for now but they will get look worse when the case is done and find an antidote for them.
We went to every hospital in town. "Excuse me, one of our own is sick. We don't know what it is?" I said. "Can you help us?" "Sure." We sent the gang to each hospital. I know it's not fair but it's just an experiment. It was one of my ideas.
Weeks later, the results are in. "They're the same." I said reading the results. We were at Journey's apartment. "Let me see two of those." I gave her two of the test results. "They're the same all right. None of these can be explained. There is no illness name to these symptoms." Journey said.
"Is there anything wrong?" She asked. I gave her a sad look. "I don't know about this. I got another idea." "What is it?" She asked while facing me with her arms folded.
"One of us pretends to be sick, and the other will go into the files." "Who's going to be sick?" Journey said. I was giving her a smart look. "Whoa. Not me." "It has to be you." "Why?" "You're sick all of the time." "So what does me getting sick and banged up all the time has to do with anything?" She asked in a low voice. "The reason I ask you to be the decoy because they will believe that you're sick." "They believe I'm sick when I am really sick. So what do I have to do? Eat a whole lot of food till I burst." "Journey, you read my mind." "Why do I have the feeling that this is not going to work?" "I don't know. Your idea didn't."
Journey thought for a minute. "(Sigh) Okay I'll do it. but if your plan doesn't work, I'm blaming you and..." "I'll nurse you back to health." "Fine. You got a deal." Journey and I shook hands.
She got up and started to eat her heart out. A few hours later, "I can't eat anymore." I don't know about the plan. She gained a whole lot of pounds. She ate a tub of ice cream, 20 sandwiches, a 2-liter of soda, lots and lots of chocolate, a resses cocoa puffs, a gallon of milk. She was about to throw up. I called 911. She ate till she fainted.
At the hospital, everyone treated Journey. I got into one of the nurses' outfits and took a chance to go through medical files and copied them. I placed them in my jacket. I took off the outfit and went back to the ER Room.
"How is she?" I asked. "She's fine. We had to pump out her stomach. She's ready to go in a few hours." "Can I visit her in private? I asked. "Sure." The doctor's left and I went into a hospital room where Journey was. "How was the stomach pump?" "Not very comforting thank you very much." "How much did they take out?" "I don't know maybe the whole thing."
We whispered, "Did you get the files?" "I had to dress as a nurse to get them but they fell for it. I got the files right here." "That's cool." Journey said.
A few hours later, they let her go. We over heard the office talking about Journey. "What happened to Journey Blake?" "She ate so much that she fainted. Velma took her to the ER to get her stomach pumped out. She didn't like it one bit."
We walked home. "That was a relief. I can't believe that they fell for it." Journey said. "I don't know about Journey." "Roh." Scooby said. There was silence. "Do you hear anything?" "Rome rody running here." "It must be her."
"Okay, what do we do?" Journey said while she was into a panic attack. Both of us hid. "We have to diverse a plan." Journey got up and looked around. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Looking around. What else?" "Are you nuts in your thick head?? You want the ghost to see you?" I asked. "One, I don't want a thick head and two with my power, the ghost can't see me. Check this place out." I got up and joined her.
We quietly looked around the place. It wasn't either of our houses. It was different. I tripped over something. "Velma are you okay?" Journey said. "I'm fine but look what I've found." Journey joined me. "What is it?" She asked. "It's a list." Velma said. "Give me that." Journey said. I gave her the list of something. "It's a list of the ingredients that made the gang and the rest of the town sick." Journey said. "What's on it?" "I'm no scientist but I do know that they placed the poison like stuff in certain foods. It has no taste or smell."
Journey gave me back the list. She was right. It had some ingredient that made it like that it was nothing there to taste. "We better hide this right now before anyone gets to it." I said while hiding it in my hidden pockets.
"What are we going to do with the list?" Journey asked. "I don't know." She walked around. "Hey Velma come here." Journey said signaling me something. "What is it?" "The chemicals that they used." "Really?" "Yeah." I took the list out of my pocket and looked at the labels on the bottles. "It's the exact same thing as the list." "We better box them before they come back."
Journey said while starting to pack. "Journey wait!" I said while grabbing her hand. "Now what?" "Are we sure we're doing something right?" "Yeah. We will put the chems bottles inside the boxes. It's a big clue." "So is the list." "We have to collect the clues from the list."
I looked at Journey packing. "I guess you're right." I said. "I know you seen things my way. Come on." Journey said. We packed the rest of the chemicals inside the boxes and we carried them off to the apartment.
Both of us took a look at the fingerprints. We found some. Journey and I used gloves. "Wait a sec. Ghost don't leave fingerprints." Journey said. "I think these ghost do!" She looked at me. "What do you mean?" Journey asked. "These don't look like real ghost to me." "Gee, you really think so?" She asked. We continued to look at the chemicals in the bottles. "Some of these can dump." I said.
"And some of these made me have a plan." Journey said. "What's that?" "We'll set a trap back at their lair." "How are you going to do that? There are at least ten or more." Velma said. "We alive right?" Journey asked. "Yeah." "We can outsmart them. We're bigger and more alive than they are. We can leave a trial of this stuff until they can get caught in our ghost trap." "How is that going to happen? There's only two of us." I asked. "Well one of us has to distract them. It's going to be you."
She's crazy. "What? Why me?" "Because I came up with the plan, they seen you and they can chase you. The faster we can capture these ghost, the faster we can find some way to cure the town." Journey said. "You said a mouthful." Velma said.
So we were back at the warehouse, We sat a trap. We had everything planned out. Journey placed down the bottles in a straight line to where the trap was going to be.
Hours later, the ghost showed up and surprised them.
"Keep going Velma." Journey said. I hid and the ghost found the bottles that they were looking for. They were following it. When they got to the trap. Journey trapped them all. "I guess that we handled one ghost too many." Journey said. "Good job Journey." We said shaking hands.
When the cops took the "ghost" away, the town was getting better. "Look, the gang's getting better." I said. Journey was drinking her water. I motioned her to come over and she saw a delightful scene. The gang was getting better.
Weeks later, everything was back to normal. Grown ups went to work, children went back to school, and Journey and I got an award for bravery. "What happened when you two trapped them?" a news reporter asked. "I guess we handled one ghost too many." Journey said. "It was all her idea. We found what they used, used them into traps." I said. Journey and I had proud looks on our faces. We were proud of what we did. This is one adventure Journey and I won't forget.
The End.
