I can't seem to get enough boyfriends. I got through so much love it's nothing. Daphne doesn't feel that way. She hasn't dated in a long time. Of course, she has crushes, but never dated a guy since she's been on Mysteries Inc. (which took a toll on her love life). I haven't dated a guy in a few months. Not ever since I broke things off with Gavin. He can prove that he's change is ways for me. I don't believe him. He's been giving me mixed singals here. Every guy I've dated like Axel, W.J and Gavin, they've been taking all of the shots. Telling me where they are going to be on our dates, rush things too quickly and force me to do what they want and they (I hate this word) CHEAT.
I mean I love the guys but I hated the way they treated me. One was a cheater, a drunk and overprotective guy. It is not what a girl asks for. I hate that so much that I don't want to love no more! But nothing can break the teriffic bond between Daphne and I. we are just sisters that are inseparable. No one broke the bond between me and my acoustic guitar. I play it everytime I have a problem. Okay enough with my life story, let's go on with this one.
I was asleep one night in my bed until something almost woke me up. "No. I told you. I don't want to dance with you right now." I said in my sleep. Some mysterious figure came up and picked me up and kept on touching my face. I was sleeping in someone's arms that night.
In the morning, I woke up in my bed. There was very note on my dresser drawer and a bunch of flowers. I looked at the flowers. I even also took out the note. It said: "Hey Journey, I was that person that you were sleeping in my arms last night. Since you said that I was overprotective and to bossy, I got some help. I am going to counseling. I am going for the best, caring person that I love. Well I picked up some flowers for you, from me. Love Gavin." "Oh Gavin. I wish I can believe you but I can't." I grabbed my guitar and sung a song about it.
After, I went to breakfast. I ate some breakfast. Now that you think about it, it was pretty romantic, but not romantic enough.
I got dressed for work. Guess I am playing around with Gavin's heart by playing hard to get. He's playing around with mine by bothering me so much with all to of this nonsense.
At the studio, Daphne was given the same thing. "Hey Journey, got this from my secret admirer." Daphne said. "I got a letter. Gavin said that he was getting help by going to counseling. I don't believe him. Do you?" I said while looking at the riddle that her admirer sent her. "I don't either." NO matter what, I am not going to give in. He has to do something special. I don't want to date right now. It is pretty queer but it's true for now.
That night, I went to bed. I watched Saturday Night Live and played my guitar. When I sing, I wonder why. Why do I do this to myself? Anyway, it doesn't hurt to try. I went to sleep thinking. Why am I playing around with every heart with every guy I am having a relationship with.
The next day, waking up to breakfast in bed. Next to me was Fred. "Good morning Journey." "Morning Fred." I said. I was stretching and yawning. "What do we have here? Food! My hobby." I said. While taking the first bite. "Have you seen Daphne by any chance?" Fred asked. "Haven't seen her. Now that I am up, what do you want to talk with me about?" I asked.
"What does Daphne's Heart desire?" Fred asked. By the look of his face, he was nervous. "She never tells me these kinda things. So I have no idea. To me, my heart desires stuff that has given to me that means something. Like a ring or a very special date stuff like that. Something a man has never given me before. Something that is given to me must be out of love. That is what my heart desires. It's so special." Before that, I was eating.
"It's everything I dream of." I sighed. Fred thought for a minute. "Thank you so much." He said while hugging me. He was near my door. When I said. "Where you going?" "To find Daphne." He said. Fred left. "Okay, But you're missing out on all the food!" I said. I finished eating.
I finished breakfast and got dressed for the day. I recorded the message that I told Fred about.
"Gavin, I told Fred What I want so I am going to tell you. What my heart desires is stuff that is given to me that means something like a ring or a very special date. Something no man has given to me before. It has to be special because it's what I dream of! I hope you get the message. Journey Blake." I went outside and he was in my bedroom. So I quickly wrote. "Play this tape once you get it." And placed it in his cassette player all the way in. I left for down town.
I got a call from Gavin. Here's what he put on my answering machine. "Journey, I heard your message. You were gone and out the door when I try to visit you. You were gone. So here it is. I am still in love with you. I love you very much." then it stops. "He does love me. I must be stupid. I am going to Call him and tell him that we will be friends for now.
"Gavin are you there?" Gavin picked up. "Hey. You got my message." "Listen. I stil want to be friends until I figure something out." "I was going to say that I am going to take you out on a date." "As friends for now." "(Sighs) as friends." He hung up. I hung up too.
Fred came by that night. "Did you find Daphne?" "Sure did. She didn't believe me." "Some girls are like that. Don't worry she'll fall for you sooner or later." Journey said. "I need a shoulder to put my head on. Would you comfort me?" "Sure." I comfort him in a special way.
Hours later, Fred fell asleep on me. I let go and placed a blanket on him. "Daphne better appreciate this." I placed a pillow under his head and left the room. More company came in. It was Shaggy and Scooby. "You need a shoulder to cry on?" I asked. "Like sure. We do." "Sit down the guest room and we'll talk there."
Scooby and Shaggy went into the guestroom. "What's the matter?" I said in my sweet tone as I sat on the bed. "It's nothing. It's just that, my great grampie died last night and he was special to Scooby and me."
An hour later, they fell asleep. I had Fred sleeping on the couch, Scooby and Shaggy lying on the bed in the guestroom. As soon as I know it, Velma might come by and went to sleep.
It happened. Velma came over and explained he problem. I told her to sleep in my bedroom as I checked on the others. I am like the soother of the gang. Daphne didn't come back until six.
"What's wrong with them?" "Issues. Crying, soothing stuff like that. But you have to be quiet. They are all sleeping."
Few hours later, everyone got up and ate their late night supper. It was already a few minutes past nine. I told them that they can stay here for the night and I would sleep on the floor in the living room with the inflatable mattress and a few blankets. They said yes to my offer.
They went to their rooms and I played my guitar with Fred. He played it for a while. It sure attracted the others. So we sang songs and Fred, Shaggy and I took turns playing my guitar. It was like a camp out.
Fred sat next to Daphne. He smiled and winked at her a few times. So did she. I knew that there was something going on. They can't admit their feelings because they are afraid that it might go too fast and split the gang. I don't want it to happen. Scooby, Shaggy, Velma and I didn't mind it. it is just a normal thing that they do.
Seeing them in love made me think of Gavin, I was out of my mind. I still don't know what to do with this friendship. I want to go all the way but I can't do that at a fast rate.
"That was so fun." Fred said. "Me too." Velma said. Shaggy and Scooby were at the kitchen getting something to eat. "Are you going to eat the whole house?" I said. "If it was made of food, yes we would but we won't take too much." We laughed about the candy bit.
Everyone went to sleep. So did I. I was all in my dreams. Nothing about Gavin tonight. I finally sent him off as friends until I am good and ready.
At the middle of the night, Fred woke up and got a late night snack. I just went to sleep.
The next day, we all woke up. Scooby was so fast asleep. It looked like that he's been up all night. We didn't bother.
"Anyone feeling better?" I said. "Sure am." Fred said as he came out yawning and stretching. When I went to work, I smiled. I saw Gavin again. I just hugged him. "We'll have our date as friends." I said. I left. I turn to see him smile at me.
I went into the studio and started writing a song is about what I want to happen on one very special date. I don't think it would happen.
My Smile turned into a frown. I wasn't happy at all. Gavin is doing everything in his power to win me back.
I caught him before he could leave. "Gavin wait!" he turned around "What is it Journey?" "I have only one question, do you still want me back?" I asked. "Very much. Why?" "Just wondering, that's all." "See you later." Gavin left. I went to the tech department on the set. I was there for the past few hours. I was the most hard and determined worker. Daphne said so herself.
Anyway, once the work was done, all of us went to a pizza place for lunch. My entire ex's was there. All works there (except Gavin). They were giving Scooby and I weird looks. "Scooby, do you think that they are giving us weird looks?" I asked him. "Reah. Rhey are riving re reird rooks roo." Scooby said. He had his mouth full with the pizza that we had. The way that Scooby had his mouth full was very cute. I gave Scoob a kiss on the forehead.
I heard my ex's talking. "Look at them." W.J. said. "She is very happy with her friends and her sister!" Axel exclaimed.
Gavin showed up. He sat right next to me. "Hey Journey." "Hey Gavin." I stood up and gave him a hug. "How are you?" I asked. "Happy. Being right here with you as a friend." Gavin said. "Sit next to me." I said. So he did. "Hey Scooby." "Rey Ravin." Scooby said. Gavin gave him a pat on the head.
Scooby lay on the floor because he was full from the pizza he ate. Everyone was talking. Including Daphne and Fred. They went somewhere private.
"Hey Daphne. There is something I want to talk to you about." "What is it Fred?" Daphne asked. "There is this secret that I've been keeping for a very long time." Daphne was fidgeting around. She could feel her heart going down to her stomach. That's how nervous she got. They were interrupted by us getting our bags and stuff and going. "I think that we better get going." Fred said. "Yeah we should. Tell me later." With that, I paid my ex's for the pizzas and all of us left the place.
At home, Fred and Gavin were there. "What were you trying to say to Daphne at the pizza place?" Gavin asked. "I was going to tell her how I felt about her all these years." Fred said while sighing. "I am trying to get Journey to like me. She placed a cassette tape in my cassette player and I played it. Telling me what she wants to get back together. I want her to believe that I am getting help." Gavin said. "All you have to do is spend time alone for a while to tell her that you love her and you've changed." "I think that's what I should do." Gavin said. " And I have a plan to do it."
Scooby and I were sleeping on the couch together. Gavin made a couple calls somewhere. I have to give in sometime. I felt some shaking goin' on. "What? I'm up." I said. Scooby was sleeping. Shaggy was siting in my lounge chair watching TV. Velma was on the rocking chair. Daphne woke me up. "What is it?" "Gavin wants to see you alone." I went to my bedroom where he was laying on my bed.
I opened the door. "Dress up Journey, we are going somewhere." Gavin said. I was confused but dressed up anyway. I knew that I was in for something of a lifetime. "Don't forget to bring your guitar." "Fine."
So I grabbed my guitar.
I spent two hours getting ready for this "date". I got my hair done nails and everything. Daphne did everything for me. "I am nervous." I said. "Don't be. I know what he's going to do with you." I was excited. "What? What is he going to do to me." "I am not telling you are going to experience it yourself. Now keep still." She was doing my hair. "I am doing this because this might be the special date you're asking for." I had a confused look.
Daphne was done with me at six. I brought my guitar and everything I need. Daphne came down. She signaled me to go down stairs. I closed my bedroom door and left.
I was stomping on down stairs. Everyone was awing me. I left. "You look great." Gavin said. "Thanks." I said. I carried my guitar. I look silly going holding my guitar. "You take care of her." Daphne said. "Scooby go with Journey." Fred said. "Rokay"
Scooby left. He hopped back into the back seat of Gavin's car. "You are going to have a great time. This is going to be the special date of all dates." Gavin said. "Here open this." He continued. He gave me a small box. "What's this?" I asked investigating it. "Open it."
Scooby was in the backseat looking at my box. I opened the box. It was a diamond ring with my emerald in it. "It's beautiful. Thank you." I placed it on my finger. "Isn't it cool Scooby?" "Reah rery reautiful." Scooby said.
He took me on at fancy restaurant. "I made reservations here. You are going to love it." "I sure I will." He got out of the car and took me into the restaurant. Scooby went with us.
We all went into the fancy restaurant, we waited for the waiter. "Hello. Do you have a table with a dog's place?" I asked. "Yes we have a table like that. Follow me." So the waiter came.
When we got to the table, I had a shocked look on my face. It had a centerpiece with nineteen roses a present, food already prepared and untouched. It also had some candles already lit. "Sit down." Gavin said. So I sat down. "This is so cool." "You said that you wanted something special. Now here it is." So we ate our dinner. Scooby ate his like nothing.
We drove to this cool hill. Gavin took my guitar and played it for us. He played a special song. Scooby and I watched him. It was so cool.
Once he was done Scooby and I applauded. "That was so cool." I said. "Reah rool." Scooby said. "I wrote it just for you. It means that you're special." Gavin said. "Scooby, what did you think?" "Rery rool." Scooby said while giving Gavin a lick. We were looking at the stars. Every single star was unique in their on special way.
During the drive home, we were talking. "I had a wonderful time. It was a I've been dreamed of. I am never going to forget this. I love you so much to admit it." I said in a language that he would understand.
When we got home to my house, Scooby was already at Shaggy's. We went to the living room. I curled up next to him and his arm comfortably around me. "Gavin, you're so sweet to me." I said. "I know. Why did it take you so long?" He asked. "I don't know. I had to tell you as a friend because I needed time to think. Now all this time, I all I wanted was is to love you now." He kissed me on the spot. It was a beautiful 20 seconds.
"Now this is what I call special." I continued. "Thank you for making my dream come true. I am going to bed. See you tomorrow." He kissed me goodnight and left.
The next day, I was up and running. I went to work. I heard happiness around me. "Guess what?" "What now Daphne?" "Fred said that he loved me." "I think that is cool. I also think that is a start to a new beginning."
