Amanda laid on her bed, dressed in her jeans and halter, complained about her headache. This is was her first headache when she got to Earth. It was so painful; it felt like someone hit her in the head over and over again. She was moaning in pain, that it could be heard all around the pond.
Her brothers, Nosedive and Wildwing came on the double, entering the room. They saw their sister complaining by yelling and screaming.
“What’s the matter?” Wing asked.
“I got a major headache, that what’s the matter!” Amanda said in pain.
“How does it feel like?” Dive asked.
“Like someone just hit me in the head.” Amanda exclaimed.
“Does it hurt when you move?”
“Not really.”
“I’ll get you some aspirin.” Wing said, walking out of Amanda’s chambers. Once Wing got back with two aspirins placed them to Amanda’s hand.
All she did was look at them, and then she took them into her mouth, washed them down with water and lay back on the bed.
“Fell better?”
“A little bit.” Amanda said. Her eyes got heavy and drifted off to sleep.
“Man, those pills knocked her out.”
“Let her sleep… she needs it.”
Dive nodded as he and Wildwing quietly left Amanda’s chambers. After a long hour of silence, Duke entered Amanda’s quiet chambers, seeing Amanda sleeping underneath the covers. HE decided to join her by wrapping his arm around her and went to sleep not bothering taking off his boots.
Two hours later, it was three in the afternoon; both woke up, facing each other.
“Good afternoon sweetheart.” Duke said. “Feeling better?”
“My headache is gone.” Responded Amanda
“Wing told me what happened to you.” He said. “Are you hungry at all?”
“I’m starving.”
“Come on, we’ll get something to eat.” Duke looked at the time. “I was suppose to be over at practice a few minutes ago.”
“I’ll come with you.”
“Sure why not.” Duke grumbled under his breath, turning his head away from Amanda’s face.
Amanda took his face in his hands and turned it so it was facing hers. He looked into her two eyes, telling him that everything was going to be okay. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll take your place.”
“What about the food?”
“I’ll grab something to go, you just relax and I’ll give you one of these later.” Amanda teased while massing his shoulders with her hands.
“Go. I can’t wait for it.”
Amanda kissed him and left her chambers.
A while later, Amanda sat on her bed after she practiced a long and hard three hours. She was tired. But she saw Duke watching TV next to her. She got up and covered his eyes with her hands.
“Guess who?” Amanda asked.
“Would it bed the most beautiful girl that I love?” He guessed.
“Good guess.” Amanda said.
He turned around and faced her. He thought of how life would be like if they were married and having children of their own. To him, it would be wonderful. He wasn’t sure about Amanda. But Duke decided to change the subject.
“How was practice?”
“Duke, I haven’t played hockey since I came here five months ago. I sucked out there. I was wondering, can you help me come back in the game?” Amanda asked.
“Sure.” Duke said. “I love to. How did you like wearing my uniform?”
“Great. It was comfortable.” Amanda said. “I thought about you when I wore it.” She gave him the neck massage that he waited for.
“That hits the spot.” Duke said.
“I told you I would give you one of these.” Amanda said.
“Your hands are so relaxing.”
“I’ll make it interesting for you.” Amanda teased, starting to massage his back and kissin the back of his neck.
“You’re turning me on Amanda.” Duke moaned.
“Isn’t that a good thing?” Amanda asked.
“With you? Definitely yes.”
“Good, because you’re turning me on as well.” Amanda stopped and placed her full figured body on Duke’s lap.
“Comfortable?” Duke asked, placing an arm around her waist.
“Yes.” Amanda said.
There was silence for a few minutes, until Duke spoke up.
“Amanda?”
“Yeah?”
“I know we haven’t’ known each other for very long but I feel like that I’ve know you forever.”
“I have felt the same way about you.”
“So I was wondering, will you marry me?” Duke stumbled.
Amanda thought about the question for a moment then gave Duke her answer to his question. “Yes… I will marry you.” Amanda said.
They hugged and kissed each other.
“I am so happy.” Duke said.
“I’m so happy too.”
Now Duke and Amanda are officially engaged. Since they’ve known each other for five months and love each other very much, it was well worth marring each other for. Weeks later, Amanda was re-taught how to play hockey and got better than Duke. A week later, he bought Amanda the engagement ring.
That night, Both Duke and Amanda were sleeping in bed, until a mysterious person kidnapped the two. The kidnapper left, leaving a mysterious, dark note on their bed.
In the morning, Mallory woke up, seeing that she was alone. Nosedive must of left when she fell asleep. No matter, she got up and went to check up on the couple. She doesn’t know that Amanda and Duke were engaged. Mallory opened up the chambers, couldn’t believe what she saw. Amanda and Duke were gone, and there was a note on Duke’s pillow. Mallory commed the team.
“Guys, Duke and Amanda are gone!” Mallory said, trying to keep calm.
“Where are you?” Wildwing said.
“In Duke’s room.”
“We’re on our way!” Wing said.
The rest of the team rushed to Duke’s room where Mallory was, sitting on Duke’s bed, holding a note.
“I cannot believe this.” Mallory was disappointed to see that her best friend and Duke gone.
“What does the note say?” Tanya asked.
“Mighty Ducks, In case you’re wondering where Duke and Amanda is…Well… I kidnapped them so they can be with me. I’m going to make Duke go back to a life of crime and Amanda my slave. I’m going to give you directions and clues to find the happy couple.” Mallory read.
“Do you think its Falcone?”
“It has to be.” Nosedive said. “He tried to get Duke arrested one time. I think getting out of jail and capturing him and Amanda was a stupid idea.”
“We gotta go find them.” Wildwing said. “To the Aerowing!”
The team got dressed, went to the Aerowing and launched into the air, looking for the newly engaged couple.
Duke woke up, finding Amanda lying next to him. IT took him a few seconds to figure out where they were, having no knowledge of being captured. The two were in a room with one bedroom and blanket; the room was cold and damp. He turned his head, seeing Amanda shivering because she was wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts. He was wearing his long sleeve shirt and Pj bottoms. Duke wrapped the blanket around Amanda.
“Here, you need the blanket more than I do.” Duke said while wrapping the blanket around her. He sat next to her and stoked her black hair gently. Amanda smiled, telling Duke that she was happy. “Don’t worry, we’ll figure out why we’re here. There’s gotta be an answer.”
Five minutes later, Amanda woke up, distracting Duke of his thoughts. “Morning Duke.” Amanda said while sitting up next to him.
“Morning Amanda.” Duke greeted, kissing her afterwards.
Amanda looked around; it wasn’t Duke’s room anymore. “Where the hell are we?”
“Who ever did this… I won’t let it hurt you.” Duke protectively said.
“I won’t let it hurt you either.” Amanda said.
“We’re getting married soon.” Duke said stroking her hair.
“I know.”
“I have the marriage date set up for next Saturday. I have everything set.”
“Do you have my dress?”
“I had Wildwing do that.”
“Cool.”
They got up and looked around, Amanda still had the throw around her for warmth. Amanda had a suggestion.
“Try the door.” Amanda said.
“I forgot about the door. I’ll try it.” Duke said. Once he got to the door and pulled on it. “Locked!”
“Damn.” Amanda said.
They heard footsteps getting closer and closer. Both Amanda and Duke courageously got up and looked mad. The kidnapper unlocked the door.
“Someone’s coming.” Amanda said.
The door was opened; the shadow of the man was let go to a familiar face to Duke and not Amanda. “Well, well, well, Duke, the tables have turned!” the figure said.
“Falcone!” Duke exclaimed.
“In the flesh…. I finally captured you and your slutty girlfriend.”
“Listen bubba… First, I’m not a slut and second… don’t talk to my fiancé like that!” Amanda said.
“Fiesty one.” Falcone said.
“Why did you capture us if it’s me you want?” Duke asked.
“I’m going to get my way and make you come back to a life of crime!”
“What about Amanda?”
“She’s going to be our assistant, a slave of some sort.”
“I’m not turning my fiancée into a slave of yours and you’re not going to hurt her either.” Duke put his foot down.
“Hurting you and Amanda isn’t my intention.” Falcone approached Amanda and took one look at her. “Did anyone told you about the hot figure you have?”
“That’s none of your business Falcone!” Amanda said.
“Why did you capture us anyway and not my teammates? Is there any obsession with me and Amanda?”
“Because they don’t steal.” Falcone said. “I’m still better than you.”
“You escaped from prison.” Amanda said.
“You figured it out.”
“Yeah. I’m not that stupid after all.”
The rest of the team searched for their teammates as long as possible, sadly no luck. They went back to the pond to refuel the Aerowing. Nosedive was sad and worried about his sister.
“We’ll never find him.” Nosedive wailed.
Mallory walked to Nosedive and gave him a hug. “We’ll find them, don’t worry.” Mallory soothed. Dive returned the hug by placing his arms around her waist.
“All we’re doing is refueling the Aerowing to search them again.” Wildwing said.
“Why would Falcone want both Duke and Amanda if it’s Duke he wants?” Tanya asked.
“I don’t know.” Wing replied while refueling their ship. “I just don’t know.”
By now, Falcone took Duke for make some plans to rob a jewelry museum, Amanda just sat there in her strange out fit. It was black tiny halter and black tight pants. Also she had to wear black rubber gloves that bikers use. Duke was back in his brotherhood outfit.
“I’m bored.” Amanda complained.
“Shut up Amanda.” Falcone said.
“You can make me.” Amanda snapped again. She didn’t like Falcone at all.
“I will.” Falcone said.
“Bring it on!” Amanda stood up from her chair, facing him.
Duke came between the two. “That’s enough you two.” He said. “You’re not making this situation any better Amanda.”
“All I’m doing is absolutely nothing Duke.” Amanda said.
“It doesn’t give you the right to back mouth him.”
“He told me to shut up. How was I suppose to respond, ignore it and hope it will go away?” Amanda asked.
“I don’t know how would you respond.” Duke said.
“I’m going to go in the damp cold room until you’re ready to for me.” Amanda said.
“What is that suppose to mean?”
“I’m giving you a choice, between a life a crime or me.” Amanda argued.
Duke activated his saber and pointed it at Amanda. Out of rage, he sliced her arm open.
“Fine if you’re going to treat me like this. I hope I never see you again!” She said while turning his saber against him by throwing it on the floor and walking away. “Fine by me!” Duke said.
Amanda walked away in anger, clutching her bleeding arm with her hand. She knew that she lost the fight, and the man of her life. Duke won the battle but lost his future wife by his decision. But continued to the plan. She had to figure out a way to escape the hellhole she was in.
That night Duke went back to the chambers. “Amanda! Where are you?” Duke angrily said. “This is no game.” Then he found a note on the bed and read it out loud. “Escaped hell hole good bye!” Duke was in shocked. “What have I done?” He placed his head on his hands in guilt.
As Amanda escaped, she cut herself open again while cutting the door open. “Shit!” She yelped, ignoring the other pain that was left on her arm. Amanda had no regrets escaping from there at all.
The team gave up for the night; they were too tired and too disappointed to search any more. So Tanya and Wing figured out a plan to find Amanda and Duke the next morning after practice.
Duke felt like crap now as he sat on the bed. He knew that he made the wrong decision. It was nighttime and he got more worried about Amanda’s whereabouts than he ever did before. Then he bent down and saw something glitter near him. “The engagement ring.” He gasped. He took a long look at it but the ring wasn’t the real ring that he gave to Amanda. “This one’s a fake!”
It didn’t take Amanda long to search for the pond again (read “The Introduction and the Love”). She entered the pond and underneath the ice and went to the living quarters. When the team saw her in the living quarters, watching TV, they rushed to her.
“Amanda are you okay?” Dive said.
“What happened?” Mallory asked.
“Falcone captured us, I hated him so much that I escaped.” Amanda replied with no hesitation.
“What about Duke?” Wing asked
“Duke and I had an argument and he cut my arm open out of rage.” Amanda looked at the arm and saw that the blood was dry and wasn’t deep at all.
“Come and let’s clean the blood off, the cut is only light.” Wing commanded.
All walked to the medical bay to have her cut treated. Tanya gave Amanda the medication she needed. She rested on her own bed when she got to her chambers. Amanda’s eyes closed as she drifted off to sleep.
After Mallory and Dive made out, they laid under the blankets. They were warm against each other both satisfied and happy. Dive had his hand around Mallory’s waist. Both were still awake.
“Let’s just hope that my brother and Amanda doesn’t come in here tonight.” Dive said.
“Amanda is too worried about Duke to disturb us and Wildwing’s asleep.” Mallory replied.
“I know, my siblings are kinda stressed right now.”
“You’re sister is worried sick about Duke, she won’t even come out of her room.”
“Do you want to talk with her?” He asked.
Mallory thought for a minute, “I don’t think that Amanda wants to talk with anyone tonight.”
“Okay, let’s watch TV.” Dive changed the subject. Dive grabbed the remote and watched a little TV with Mallory.
Amanda woke up from her sleep in the middle of the night because of a nightmare that she had. She still had the engagement ring. Images and thoughts of the future flashed through Amanda’s mind. She still loves him and she knew it. Amanda knew that she couldn’t be mad at him for a while, not even for two hours! Before she went to sleep, but she decided to sleep in Duke’s room, under his blankets and wearing his sweatshirt that reminding her of Duke. She took a deep breath and went to sleep.
Duke laid on the cold, hard bed as he looked out the window. It was raining outside. He missed Amanda so much it drove him crazy. He loves her and wants to marry her very badly. He bit his lip in anger. Then he decided to leave the place for good. The wedding was in a few days so he had to go back. He knew that the others didn’t know about the engagement and about the secret that Amanda and him has been hiding from them for so long. They had to tell them everything before the wedding can go on. Duke got up and used his cat burglary skills and the equipment that he had to escape from the cell.
Once he did escape the ‘prison,’ he walked to the pond in the middle of the night. The walk only took him ten minutes from the place that Amanda and him were imprisoned. A series of thoughts ran though his mind. “How will they react when we tell them everything?” He thought to himself.
When he arrived at the pond, he passed the corridors until he got to his chambers. Everyone was asleep so he had to go to inside of his room quietly. When he opened the door, there she was, asleep under his covers of his bed. Without waking her, he quietly got dressed for bed and went to sleep close to her. Amanda was by his side once again and his smile showed it.
The next morning, Duke was awake, seeing that Amanda was waking up as well. When she looked at Duke, she thought her eyes were deceiving her. But she felt him, then smiled.
“You’re back!” Amanda said with excitement.
Duke quickly hugged Amanda for the longest time. Amanda was excited to return the hug.
“I thought I was never going to see you again.” Amanda said.
“Me either. I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
Both let go of the hug. Now they were faced with new problems of their own without the team.
“What are we going to do Duke? No one knows about the past and the engagement.” Amanda said.
“Except for Wing, who knows only about the engagement.”
“I know.”
“I’m nervous.” Duke said, holding Amanda’s hands between his.
“I think that they can handle it.” Amanda said. “Not today but…”
“We have to tell him.” Duke replied.
“We have to prepare ourselves for their reactions.” Amanda sighed. “Are you ready?”
“To get the secrets off our chests… yes.”
Amanda and Duke got dressed for the day. Both went to see the team in the kitchen eating breakfast. They saw Amanda and Duke, holding hands.
“Duke,” Dive said, “You’re back!”
Everyone hugged or shook Duke’s hand, all smiles on their faces. But Mallory and Tanya saw the ring on Amanda’s fingers.
“Everyone sit down.” Amanda said. “Duke and I… have something’s that we’ve been hiding from you.”
There was silence between the team and the happy couple until Mallory spoke up, “What is it?”
“Duke and I are engaged to be married on Saturday.” Amanda confessed.
“That can’t happen Mandy. You’ve been going out for five months.” Dive said.
“But that’s the thing Dive, Amanda and I have been dating when we were on Puckworld. We’ve been dating for five years instead of five months.” Duke said.
No smiles were on the duck’s faces just blank expressions.
“Wow.” Dive said.
Silence filled the room as five out of the seven ducks continued eating breakfast or watching TV.
“Duke, may I speak to you for a second?” Amanda spoke up.
“Sure.” Duke said. Both walked to the living quarters and sat on the couch.
“What kinda reaction was that?” Amanda asked.
“I don’t know.” Duke said.
“I don’t think that they believe us.”
“Only on the five year part that they don’t believe.”
“Except Nosedive and Mallory.”
“If they want to know what happened when we first met, talk to them about it.”
“I will.”
Amanda got up and walked to the kitchen. “Mal and Dive, may I speak to you in my room?”
“Sure.” Both unisoned as they walked with Amanda to her chambers.
When they got to Amanda’s chambers, Mallory and Dive saw the photos that Amanda kept of her and Duke amazed them when they first entered the room.
“Why do you want us here Mandy?”
“I need to explain to you about the past.”
“About you and Duke?”
“What else. You weren’t surprised about what Duke and I dished out a few minutes ago.”
“Okay big sis explain.”
“It was five years ago on Puckworld…”
Five years ago (Amanda’s narration)
I remember working at a jewelry store. Until a cat burglar came in one night when I was closing to come home and hang out with you and Wildwing. He went to the back and tried to steal some jewels for someone.
“Stop right there!” I yelled.
He didn’t answer. I came closer with a plastic hockey stick.
“Did you hear me when I said ‘stop right there,” I said. “Are you deaf or something?”
He turned around and I whacked him with the plastic hockey stick on the stomach. The swing wasn’t hard. I didn’t see his face so I assumed that it was any jewel thief. When I took his mask off, I saw the most wonderful face on Puckworld lying on the floor, winded.
“Are you okay,” I asked.
“I’m okay… winded but okay.” He replied in a low tone.
“I’m so sorry I whacked you.”
“That’s okay.” He said, while staring at me. He had lust in his eyes; he looked at me like I was the most beautiful duck he’s ever seen.
“What’s your name?”
“Why? Are you going to report me,” he asked while getting up. What gave him that assumption that I was going to report him when I knew that he was the one for me?
“I’m not going to report you…” I replied, getting up from the floor as well. “Instead I want to go out with you sometime.”
“My name is Duke L’Orange.”
“Amanda Flashblade.” I replied.
“Did anyone tell you how wonderful you are?”
“Not really.” I said, “But thanks for the comment Mr. L’Orange.”
“Just call me Duke.”
“Okay… Duke.”
There was silence as he took the rest of this mask off, revealing the most gorgeous face I’ve ever seen.
“Would you like to go out with me sometime?” He asked.
“I love to.” I said, “When do you want to go out?”
“Saturday night.”
“Sounds great to me.”
In a flash he gave me the most wonderful first kiss of my life. It wasn’t sloppy and wet, it was perfect. He let go of the kiss and walked away.
“See ya Saturday.”
Duke just waived and left. All I did was sigh deeply as I locked up the store and left for home.
Present
“I fell in love with him after that and we’ve been going out ever since.” Amanda said. “He didn’t steal any jewels that night. But he stole my heart and made me his girlfriend.
“Wow.” Dive said.
“Why tell us now instead of the time you came here to Earth,” Mallory pondered.
“Duke and I were afraid of your reactions if we did tell you. You would reject us and kick us out.”
“Why would we do that to you and Duke?” Dive said. “We’re your best friends. We would never do that to you.”
“Thanks for caring.” Amanda smiled.
“Can we see your wedding dress?”
“Sure.” Amanda replied, as she got up and opened the closet only to find the wedding dress. “This is beautiful!”
“You haven’t seen it before?”
“Wing got it in Duke’s favor.”
“Okay.”
“Try it on.” Mallory said.
“Sure.”
Amanda went to the restroom to try the dress on and zipped it. She looked at herself in the mirror before showing the others. She thought of the dress as the most beautiful. It was tight a bit but a perfect fit. She walked out and showed the others.
Both Dive and Mallory gasped.
“You look wonderful.”
“Thanks.”
The dress was faded lilac, long, a bit puffy and strapless. The perfect wedding dress that Amanda could dream of.
“So are you ready for the wedding this Saturday?”
“I bet my life on it.”
“That’s what I call… a yes.” Dive said while giving her a hug.
It was only a day before Duke marries Amanda. Both were very nervous as they practiced. Wildwing and Nosedive’s job was to give Amanda away. The flower girl and maid of honor were easy and also was the best man. After getting their marriage license a few days earlier, everything was set.
That night the team left Amanda and Duke to themselves in Amanda’s room. Everything was packed, when she was moving with Duke in his chambers. Both were laying on the bed, finally facing reality that tomorrow that they’re going to be married.
“This is it.” Amanda said.
“Yep, by tomorrow, we’re going to be married.” Replied Duke.
“That’s cool.” Responded Amanda.
The room was quiet except the radio that was playing in the background. Amanda got up and packed up some more. Duke stared at her, remembering their first date. That was the night that took both Amanda and Duke’s breath away. Then he thought about the other dates after that. Many dated were splendid than the next. Amanda thought about him as an honest person. Someone she could turn to, someone to could be honest with and someone that she can talk to him about anything without being judged.
What amazed them both was the fact that they’ve been though a lot. They’ve been apart for four of those five years. But fate finally bought them together again. Amanda thought that she gave up all hope of seeing Duke and her brothers again. She missed them dearly until a mysterious portal brought the four together.
Duke got up and helped out with the packing. “Here let me help you.” He said.
“Thanks.” Amanda smiled.
“No problem, sweetheart.”
Later that night, Duke went to bed in his chambers and Amanda stayed in her room. It was now empty except the bare walls that used to be hidden nicely by posters, photos and old hockey sticks. Her bed was still there and the clock that she wanted to get rid of but it reminded her about her parents. The “ding” sound annoyed her the most. She went to bed, keeping her mind off her nervous self.
The next day, Duke woke up to get ready. It was the day of the wedding and he was excited. The sad fact was that he couldn’t see her before the wedding (because it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding). He put on his tux and took one looked at the mirror, looking handsome. Then there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
It was Nosedive, also in his tux, checking up on him. “You look nice.”
“Thanks, kid.”
“You’re welcome.” Dive said. “So are you ready to get married?”
“I’m a little nervous, but I’m going to be okay.” Duke sat on the bed; Dive sat in the chair.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be okay.” Dive said.
“Thanks.” Duke said, “You’ve been a great friend.”
“Hey, I’m always there for you.” Dive said.
There was a mire silence between the two. “So how are the others?” Duke asked.
“Amanda’s still asleep, Mallory’s getting ready and so are the others.”
“Amanda’s tuckered out. She did a lot of packing last night.”
Amanda yelled. “Dive, can you come here for a minute and help me with my dress?”
“She’s up now.” Dive said. “I’m coming… I’ll see ya later.” Dive left, leaving Duke alone.
Nosedive entered the room where Amanda was, in her dress. She was having zipper troubles.
“A little help here.” Amanda said.
“Here, Let me.” Dive said while zipping up the dress, then he looked at her. “You look beautiful.”
“Thanks bro.”
“No problem big sis.”
Dive and Amanda shared a hug. Both let go and sat down on the bed.
“I talked with Duke, he’s as nervous as you are.”
“How do you know that I’m nervous?”
“Hey I’m your brother, I know these things.”
“I’m ready to get married.”
“And Duke is too.”
“Where are we getting married?”
“Outside the pond.”
“Cool.” Amanda replied. “I’ve always wanted an outdoor wedding. Is everyone ready?”
“Last time I checked, yes.”
“I’m ready to go.”
“Let me see something for a minute.” Dive said. “You stay here okay.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Dive left, leaving Amanda alone to collect her thoughts. Two hours later, everyone was there at the wedding, including fans. The team was ready to get the two married. They haven’t seen each other. Wildwing and Dive were ready to give Amanda away, and everyone else was ready to go.
The wedding began. Duke was with the priest as everyone saw the bride’s maids walking down the isle. Then everyone stood up, as Amanda was about to go down the isle as her brothers were on either side, giving her away. Then they were given the cue to walk down the isle. When the got to where Duke was, they hugged her and sat down in the front row, while Amanda and Duke joined hands.
“Duke, do you take Amanda as your wife, to have and to hold, though rich or poor, for better or worse, though sickness and health till death do you part?”
“I do.”
“Amanda, do you take Duke as your husband? To have and to hold, though richer or for poor, for better or worse, through sickness and heath till death do you part?”
“I do.”
“Take this ring and repeat the vows after me.” The priest said.
Amanda placed the ring on Duke’s finger and said her vows. Duke did the same. The they joined candles as their friends lighted two up so Both Amanda and Duke can join them.
“By the goodness of me, by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You man now kiss the bride.”
Both Amanda and Duke leaned forward to give a kiss, when they let go both faced the crowd, holding hands.
“It gives me great honor to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Duke L’Orange.”
Everyone clapped their hands as both of them walked off near the backside of the building. When they were alone, they hugged each other happily. They were finally married to each other.
“We did it!” Duke cheered.
“We sure did.”
Both hugged each other until they hit the grass with Amanda lying on top of him. Both laughing. The Amanda got closer to him and whispered. “I can’t wait for tonight.”
“I can’t either.” Duke winked at her.
Amanda got up, “Come on, let’s join everyone at the reception.”
“Five more minutes?” Duke asked, “They’re setting up anyway.”
“Sure.” Amanda laid back down on him and kissed him.
Duke ran his hands through Amanda’s hair as she had her hands stroking his head. “You’re the greatest person in the world.” Duke said. “I wouldn’t replace you for anything.”
“I wouldn’t either. You’re honest and someone I can talk to you about anything without you judging me.”
There was silence for a while until both got up and joined the party. Once there, Amanda and Duke walked down to their seats as everyone cheered for them.
The team walked up to them and greeted the new married couple.
“Congratulations.” Tanya said.
“Thanks.” Duke said while facing everyone.
“Welcome to the family Duke.” Wildwing said.
Dive and Mallory sat next and across from them. “So what is it like to be married?” Mallory asked.
“Great so far.” Duke said.
Amanda nodded her head in agreement. But there was the couple that was sitting at the table with them, which can’t take their eyes off each other, even though they’re still going out with each other.
“Nosedive and Mallory are going out?”
“Yep.”
Wing was confused as Dive and Mal stood up and kissed each other. He knew that both were having feelings for one another so he didn’t bother with it. Everyone ate from the buffet table and danced after Duke and Amanda got up and danced. Dive and Wing took turns dancing with their sister.
Dive and Mal got a chance to dance and declare their love for each other. This didn’t drive anyone crazy, because everyone is human (half human/duck in a way). Everyone got a chance to dance for each other for a while until everyone went home, thinking of the great time that they had with the new married couple.
