WEDDING  DAY

All dressed in white and carrying a bouquet
On her father's arm she walks down the aisle,
She is as beautiful as an angel
Her father turns to her and he smiles.

"You are no longer my little girl." he says
For today you will start a new life,
For you are now a grown woman
And you will soon be a wife.

Just up ahead her husband-to-be awaits
For her to join him by his side,
He longs to hold her hand in marriage
She sure is a beautiful bride.

Who gives this woman to this man?
"I do." the father replied,
He gave his daughter a kiss and hug
Then placed her by the groom's side.

The father returned to his seat
And tenderly held his wife's hand,
"She was never ours to keep ." he said
She loves and wants to marry this man.

The groom recited his wedding vows
Then the minister passed him the ring,
He softly whispered "I love you."
"To me such happiness you do bring."

The bride recited her wedding vows
Her face was all aglow,
She put the ring on his finger
Then she whispered "I love you so."

I now pronounce you man and wife
Now you may kiss the bride,
Lovingly the groom kissed the lips
Of his wife who stood by his side.

When the wedding ceremony was over
The bride and groom walked down the aisle,
Then the wedding party followed
They were all wearing smiles.

Her parents were sad to see her go
But with everything said and done,
They didn't lose a daughter
For they have gained a son.
