"KATRINA"

Passion passes as this storm

Leaving devastated souls and bodies torn.

Unreasoning destruction, tragedy and pain

Unrecognizable rubble filled with human remains

Call us, each and every one.

Call us to do what should be done!

Think not of politicians, soldiers or those who want to explain.

These are neighbors,

Our brothers and sisters strewn about disaster’s plain.

Stand up and reach out!

Stand up and give!

Open our hearts so that these neighbors might live.

Look into the faces of those you see.

You will see the faces of you and me!

Our enemies glory in the differences we expiate.

They believe they cannot defeat us because we hate.

They cannot under stand that our differences are our strengths.

If they would any of us we would go to any lengths

To protect and save those whose differences they crave.

Now is a chance to make it clear that we are one.

Sing this loud so they might hear.

Stand up Oh citizens of our cities and states

Reach out and succor those in distress before its too late.

Give not only money, give yourself.

Pick up your neighbors from their retched shells.

Dry and clothe them.

Feed their old and young.

We as a nation will be stronger when this is done.

Leave not one untouched, unhealed!
