Like lace of black your love surrounds my every being.
It gathers up all of your thoughts feelings and emotions
and gently places them upon my heart.
I come to you totally bare and new.
You take your lace of black and clothe me.

Enfold me gently with your lovely but delicate cover.
Protect me yet let me be free.
Love me but let me give my all to the world.
Show me the way but do not take me there.
Watch me as I travel along lifes pathway stumbling at times and running freely.

Your lace of black blowing in the soft breezes
as you share with me all of your thoughts feelings and emotions.
Let me learn from them and choose the right way for me.
I shall never again be bare and hurt by the world.
Your lace of black has enfolded me.
It covers me yet lets me feel the freshness of the air.

Your lace of black is always here as a reminder of your love.
It covers me yet gives me room to breathe and grow.
It warms me and gives me comfort in my times of need.
It shields me from the harsh sunlight.
It is an extension of myself and looks beautiful upon me.
