Time

Past

Ground Thunder was one of the original armies in the triumvirate which completely dominated the waterfight world until about the time of the Law Command. The rich history of how we have fought our way to our current position is being compiled.

Present

Ground Thunder is today famous for our ground-based outposts -- most people hide up in trees, but we can defend ourselves on the ground, at the same level as our attackers. More than one army has learned that the hard way.

Future

The legacy of Ground Thunder continues, as we continuously fight off our foes on our steady ascention to the ultimate goal -- supreme power!

Discipline

Rank

All new recruits to join Ground Thunder begin as just that -- recruits.

Recruits can be promoted to the rank of Sound. A sound's status is measured in decibels, which usually appear in increments of 10.

So, a Sound-20 is higher than a Sound-10, and a Sound-45 is higher than a Sound-37. Various decibal levels are awarded based on the circumstances of each promotion or demotion.

Structure

Bolt

A Bolt is made up of 5 people, usually who have trained together extensively so that they can fight well together. A Bolt is usually led by a Sound-10 or lower, as the rest of the unit is usually made up of recruits.

Roar

A Roar is made up of 25 people, or 5 Bolts, and is usually led by a Sound-25 (roughly, ranges from about 20 to 30). We maintain an even 5 Bolts without an extra person because one Bolt out of every 5 is actually commanded by a higher-ranking Sound, who commands the entire Roar.

Storm

A Storm is made up of 125 people, or 5 Roars (25 Bolts) and is usually commanded by a Sound with a decibel between 40 and 60.

Thunder Blast

A Thunder Blast is made up of 375 people, or 3 Storms (15 Roars, 75 Bolts). Commanded by a Sound with a decibel between about 70 and 90.

Ground Thunder is commanded by Sound-100 Hectin Bestaur.

Penal System

The typical punishment in Ground Thunder is to send someone on a certain number of solo suicide missions -- which is where much of our famous heroism stems from, as we get to send people on the most outrageous missions and it does nothing but boost our plans if they somehow succeed.

More severe punishments include drop in rank and the ungraceful removal from the army.

People

Leadership

Sound-100 Hectin Bestaur is the founder and leader of Ground Thunder. Like the leaders of all the major powers, he is quite famous and highly revered.

Important People

Espionage

Policy

We utterly despise all forms of espionage. We don't allow it by anyone in our own organization, and we don't allow anyone else to use it against us.

Punishment

The normal punishment for a spy caught from another army is sending an elite squad of soldiers to massacre them at the start of every fighting period for a week (increasing in time period for each repeated offense, or for very serious offenses). Anyone from Ground Thunder who is caught performing espionage is stripped of rank and becomes a recruit again -- or, if they're already a recruit, we expel them from the army.
