=======================================Session Begins======================================= (can I please actually have the 3000 this time?) (yes) (3000?) (you'll see) (WHOA) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You are lined up along with 17 other soldiers, and your training Sergeant is addressing you (how do I switch text colours so everyone if different) (you don't) (I used a special command to get purple, but it does the star and name automatically) (uh cool) =All right,= your Sergeant begins (please continue) =We're going to begin this training mission= =You'll be divided into teams of 10= =Sir, teams of nine make more sense.+ =Why is that, Private?= =Sorry, sir.= =It was nothing.= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: He begins calling off names and numbers. Each of you are assigned to team #2 =Now,= he continues =The leader for team #1, who should be addressed as "Captain" for this mission, will be Richard Douglas= =The leader for team #2 (also Captain) will be Frederick Boyle= =While none of you have seen this battlefield before, your Captains have scouted it out and have chosen base locations. I have approved both.= =Your Captains will now escort you to your bases. You'll find your equipment there. I'll let them brief you further.= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The two groups part company and follow their Captains toward opposite ends of the battlefield * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Your Captain leads you across a large lawn, past several trees, and over between to areas of dense vegetation * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: To the South, you see trees surrounded by undergrowth blocking all vision. To your North, a dense thicket of bushes roughly 6 ft high. =Sir, this place isn't suitable for frogs, let alone a base of operations.= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: To the East is a barbed wire fence marking the boundary =Ah, but we're not done yet!= your Captain says with more than a little pride =If you say so sir= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The Captain walks into the bushes to the North. The rest of your group stands waiting Begin walking off a few feet, before turning around (which direction?) (South) (I mean west) 007 stands with the group * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: After several seconds (about when Bryce turns), your Captain returns and beckons you to follow him as he disappears into the bushes again follows him * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Obediently, the rest of the group follows * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: After you pass through one bush (with fewer scrapes than you'd feared), you find that the center of the thicket is actually totally clear * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You look around. On the ground (totally devoid of vegetation), you see the following pieces of equipment: =Sir, this is a perfect area for them to snipe us from= (hold on, let me finish) (sorry) * Gamemaster LIST: 1 CPS 3000, 2 CPS 1000, 1 AS 275, 5 XP 110, 3 XP 40, 2 2-liter bottles of watter, one backpack =Well, normally I'd agree= your Captain responds =But there's no where near here to snipe FROM!= =Sir, what's in the backpack?= =Water ballons perchance?= =Nothing, yet. It's to carry the refill bottles.= He gestures toward the 2-liter pop bottles filled with water =Oh okay= (any other questions before I continue?) (sorry) (no, you did nothing wrong) (I just want to know whether any of you want to take further action now) (okay, please continue) =All right, here's the battle plan for now,= your Captain begins =Three people (myself included) will stay here with one of the refill bottles, the CPS 3000, and two XP 110s= (I though I got the 3000) (Sorry, I thought you mean the 1000. That's what to took last time) (no, I want the 3000, pleae) (You could offer to stay on defense . . . ?) (I can carry it, look at my stats (I have no doubt you can carry it) (but the Captain's in charge) =Sir, I want to stay on defense.= chuckles (??) (I laugh) The Captain nods. =Very well, Private. Please wait until I finish next time.= =Sorry, sir.= The Captain continues, =The rest of you will split up into pairs and search the battlefield for the enemy base.= =Report back in 5 minutes, when you find the base, or when you have to.= =Remember, we've got a limited supply of water, so fire sparingly.= =Our ultimate goal is to take control of the enemy base.= =DISMISSED!= =Sir, do we get to choose our weapons?= The Captain nods. =Just don't take anything I said the defense would keep.= Walk over and picks up the CPS 3000. =And leave enough for everyone else!= He smiles Straps backpack onto back and connects gun to backpack. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Several soldiers pair up and leave. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: A couple of people go over and start speaking with the Captain walks over and takes two 40's Takes an XP 110 Walks to the middle of the clearing and sits down. =Sir, if we find the enemy do we engage?= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: One of the people talking with the Captain grabs an XP 110 and stands near Bryce. The other grabs the 175 and runs off =Only if you can win.= =Remember, conserve water.= =hmmm, CAN I HAVE SOME BACKUP!!!!= smiles =What did you have in mind?= =I will pair with you 007= (werewolf, this is where you volunteer :-) (werewolf what are your stats) (by the way, I mean 275 up in the last purple, not 175) (he's got 6 in every attribute) (No advantages) (Skills are aim, evasion, quickdraw, running, climbing, jumping . . . (sprinting, swimming (kind of a commando) (stealth, navagation, tracking, negotiation, persuastion, & protocol) =Ready 007?= (blah, blah, blah) =Yes= ( :-) (Bryce, this could get a little boring for you for awhile) =Do you have a nickname?= =Yes, it's werewolf= =Commander, let me back them up.= =They could use back-up from a big gun= =Sorry, Private. We need 3 defenders, and the defense needs a good gun.= =Bryce you might drag us down with that big gun anyay= =But, they scout, then I'll take out the base.= (your choices have distinct and lasting effects in this type of game) (good point) =We'll be taking out the base after everyone's back= =I'll send out an assault party.= =All frontal assult?= (k, well I'll just wait) =Maybe THEN you can take that 3000 out= =Not ALL. Just most= =And LATER.= =Very well, sir.=- (gamemaster, is this bases at all on a mud?) (Let me stay with them for awhile Bryce, I'll come back to you.) (No, the ground is very dry) (although has no vegetation either) (well, people? Are you going to leave?) (I mean is the game based on a Multi-User Dungeon) =Let's go= =uhhh werewolf let's go= (M.U.D.) =Werewolf do you have a high rank?= (No one's got rank) (sorry) (What do you mean "Multi-User Dungeon") (its fine) =Which way 007?= (I'd start by exiting the bushes) =Right-o-= exits the bushes exits the bushes (hold on while I describe the scene) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You walk out of the bushes and look across a wide landscape. To the North you see dense vegation and trees jutting out from the fence which curves inward. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Spreading out before you, framed by nearby vegetation on either side, you see a wide lawn. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: In the center, the grass disappears and four trees stand. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: A path winds around the meandering perimeter of the lawn. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: One pair of scouts from your team disappears from view to your left. (that's it) (is the fence solid?) (no, barbed wire) (what is the arrangement of the trees?) (north or south (remember when you came in)?) (by the way, the fence is the border) (in the lawn) (oh) (are there patrols) (There's one in the very center, with one to its North and two (side by side) to its South) (No one is in your field of vision) (yet....) (right.) (you're free to wait, act, continue gathering information with the game paused, or whatever) =let's keep moving= =right= =where to werewolf?= (His name is technically Jeff . . .) (I thought werewolf was his nickname) =(to man beside me) Well, at least we get to take out the base.= (where's our capain) (he's defending with you) =Let's manuver around the border of the lawn= (I'd throw in some minor skirmish, but I can't run to places at once) (so there's 4?) =ok= (no, the Captain included in the 3) (are you two going around North or South?) (fine) (can we all hurry up - 20 minutes to find and take out the base) moves around border of lawn (north) (we CAN overflow to another day, but the more we get in the better) moves quickly and low preparing for any sudden attack to the north (all right, let me describe again) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You start walking between the vegetation and lawn to the north. Looking up, you see the "path" widens. (*yawn*) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: It goes along the back of the vegetation patch (a few meters thick), and you see a single enormous tree * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: To your left, the lawn almost touches the crest of a slope which goes down beyond it (ummm are the rules one shot to a fatal area "kills" the enemy?) (No, its counter-based) (water can't kill, can it?) (one shot, and they must drop a counter and return to base) (three counters each) (did you see titanic) ( water can kill) (no) (everyone died) (good for them) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: To your left (West), you see a glimmer of movement in the bushes near some trees on the opposite side of the lawn (froze to death) =Let's check that out= =good idea= =move in fast and low= =I'll cover you= moves in covers jeff * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: As you begin to walk toward it, a shot of water suddenly shoots out from behind the northern most tree in the lawn, narrowly mission you * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: you turn and see that there are 5 enemy troops concealed by the trees (I mean WERE concealed) RUNS AWAY! * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You see two CPS 1000s, and 3 XXP 275s (is there any cover here?) or tries to at least (hold on) =MOOOMMMYYYY!!!!!= (No real cover but that enormous tree you just passed) (only gamemaster tells if you are successful at running away or not) (Of course, by the time you get there you're out of range) (which way do you want to run?) Turns and runs back the way we came, evading the whole time the opposite direction (opposite what?) (of the bad mean enemy people) (That's down the slope -- out of bounds) (hmmm (I'll roll your skill dice in a minute, werewolf) follows werewolf trying to evade (all right, hold on) (GAMEMASTER - it seems you were influencial in destroying the Soaked Newsletter) (not now, Bryce) (sorry) (hello.......do I have lag or something....) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You both begin running away, but are unfortunately (luck of dice) both struck by blasts. You each drop one counter (as required by the rules) and continue running. =AAAAAAAAA= * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You run back near your base. If you enter you risk exposing it, but there is vegetation which could serve as cover to either side ducks into cover on left looks to see if people are following us (look on the bright side, you're each a little closer to a skill level up) and then ducks (Do I see them) no pursuit is apparent (Does getting shot give me points?) (Bryce, let me roll to see whether you see/hear them (probably, but not necessarily) (bryce you might expose the base........) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Bryce hears commotion outside. The other two defenders immediately tense. (by the way, we can continue past 6:00 if everyone has extra time) =Sir, permission to go check it out.= (it's day time right?) *** shadow (~pirch@ip163.net20483142.cr.sk.ca) has joined #SS_RPG (yeah) (maybe) (not past 6:15 for me) (hold on) *** shadow (~pirch@ip163.net20483142.cr.sk.ca) has left #SS_RPG *** werewolf has quit IRC (Read error to werewolf[ip163.net20483142.cr.sk.ca]: Connection reset by peer) ok What the....... Also, that should have been in parantheses) (And is there any high ground or good cover near?) (hello?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You quickly glance around. Back the way you came the few trees and pathetic undergrowth offer tempting cover, but you'd have no where to run. In front of you are the trees in the lawn, good cover if they weren't occupied by enemies. To your right your options are limited by the trooper charging you with a CPS 1000, and to your right the lawn extends a short distance before meeting the downward slope. (its a physical skill, helps you dodge fire) (Where's the spigget ?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Bryce strikes the opponent (How do I use it ?) (I roll it each time you dodge) =Hey,you. You with the CPS 1000. Come over here.= (What's the object of this skrimis, again?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Bryce dodges on blast, but is hit by another (how many enemies are left) (this is a practice. Warwick, you were hit, you should be heading back.) (Are our tokens replenished between sessions.) Bryce returns fire. Warwick returns to the base running. And heads back. (I know but how do we win?) Warwick enters the base Bryce enters base. Warwick leaves the base. And quickly returns back the the battlefield. (Warwick, there is no spigget) (Adder, what're you up to?) (HOW DO WE WIN) (YOu capture the enemy base) (I was just sitting here) Bryce takes cover behind a tree. (as in get 1 guy in or kill all defenders?) (and how's our main force doing?) (as in drive all live defenders out of the base and get one guy inside) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You survey the main force Warwick ties the XP 40 to his belt and pumps the XP 110 to full power. He returns to the battlefield EVADING fire. (As in using my evasion skill.) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You find that, it being near your base, all your troops are still outside fighting, although probably most with less than 3 tokens * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The enemies don't seem to be getting reinforcements fast enough, their numbers are lagging (Warwick, you're UNTRAINED in evasion) (And tie to your belt with what?) =Everyone, we ruch on 3.= =1= =2= =3!= (hold on) Bryce and numerous others rush the enemy. (sorry) (Can't you attach something to your belt by running your belt through the trigger and depressurizing.) (Warwick is included in this crowd who rush the enemy.) Ok, good enough. I pick up my 40 and walk north. (What is the enemy status right now ?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The entire force charges forward, firing madly. Three friends drop in the attack, but all enemies are shot. No reinforcements arrive for the moment I take advantage and try to go north towards my force. Bryce (and warwick if you want) continue forward. (Yipee) =Are they dead ?= (hold on, I need more time to type) I continue forward along with the main force unhooking the XP 40 from my belt and pressureizing it. (This path goes through woods, right?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Adder heads north to the side of the battlefield, and spies the spot he hid in before. The main force continues moving forward through the center of the battlefield, and see three large trees ahead. There appear to be some enemies a short distance behind them. (Warwick, I remind you that you have only 1 token left) (how much farther?) (I know but I have to leave in 4 minutes anyways.) As soon as I get to the enemy, I head north and start stealthing up into the forest. (After the lawn ends, there's only a couple meters before the first tree. You're about 5 meters from the edge of the lawn now) My plan is to get a hiding spot next to that path so when and if they come back I'll snipe them. Warwick follows Bryce because he seems to know what he's doing. (Adder, the enemy is WEST, not NORTH) (Whatever, just go towards them.) (Where is the enemy base ?) (following main force?) (how many enemies?) (The enemy base appears to be behind those trees up ahead (Okay, there's trees in front of their base, right? (Allright cancel that plan.) (You can't count, the trees obstruct the view. Probably most or all of the entire remaining enemy force. (There's 3 trees in front of their base) (I can't tell where anything is in this.) I'd give a detailed descripton, but no time. (Big thick ones?) Bryce stops. (BIG, *THICK* ones!) Loudly yelling =Everyone, stop here to regroup.= (hrm . . . looks like I have to go) ========================================Session Ends======================================== =======================================Session Begins======================================= /me OCCURRENCE: Your team's forces spread backwards from the edge of the lawn closest to the enemy base, spreading back between the trees at the center of the lawn. /me OCCURRENCE: To your left (south) the lawn extends all the way to the barbed wire fence marking the edge of the playing field, to your right the lawn stops a couple feet short of the downward slope marking the boundary on the other side. The lawn let me try that again (BTW if you have problems keeping documents dry put them in card sheets and put them on your clipboard.) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Your team's forces spread backwards from the edge of the lawn closest to the enemy base, spreading back between the trees at the center of the lawn. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: To your left (south) the lawn extends all the way to the barbed wire fence marking the edge of the playing field, to your right the lawn stops a couple feet short of the downward slope marking the boundary on the other side. The lawn cuts backwards to your right, but extends further forward to your left before flattening out. Along the meandering curve of the lawn stretches a wide path, marked by the pebbles concealing the terrain beneath it. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: At the northern end of the battlefield, an area of sparce ivy speckled with trees grows from the far end of the battlefield almost up to your position, and its southern border meets another part of the path as it forks away from you. At the opposite end, the path curves away from the lawn near the south to avoid a single tree, and then forks left and right around another two trees, with one path leading off the battlefield. The second path curves backward around a small hill with three trees forming an equilateral triange, which the branch of the first (norhern) fork goes be (Will my aim improve if I drop the 40 ?) (probably, but I suggest you read the text for now) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: behind as well. (I can read quite well actually.) (Yes, but there's a lot of it and I want to get the game moving) (Move away.) (werewolf, you done reading that too?) (yes) The Captain looks around. =Hey!= he shouts at Warwick, =weren't you supposed to be guarding the base?= =Yes but I saw you guys getting attacked and decided to join you. Dark's still at the base.= =Um, the plan was that WE *ATTACK* the enemies.= =We left two people at the base to guard it against a counterattack= (werewolf, you can jump in any time if you want) =And I saw the enemies counterattacking you. If I remained at the base it would be highly unlikely that the enemies would reach it and even if they did the first battle would be fought there. I intended to be ready.= (are there any enemies around?) (no enemies in sight at this time) Warwick sets down the 40 and pumps the 110. (BTW how do I become trained in something ?) The Captain sighs. =All right, let's have SOMEONE head back to the base.= (you practice it a lot) (I mean you said I was untrained in Evasion. HOw do I become trained.) =I guess I'll go back to the base= (You evade a lot and get lukcy) The Captain is visibly relieved. =Thank you.= *** Warwick (WarWick@ltbrpx06-port-51.agt.net) has left #SS_RPG (Do we know the position of their base?) (Straight ahead) =All right= the Captain says in a loud voice, =let's do it!= *** Warwick (WarWick@ltbrpx06-port-51.agt.net) has joined #SS_RPG * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The troops begin charging toward the enemy base. (Where did Warwick go?) (I'm at the base guarding.) *** Warwick has quit IRC (Admiral Warwick logging off) Charges along with rest of troops. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: From the tree at the left, a shot comes out * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: An enemy troops holding an XXP 275 steps out Looks for cover You see no possible cover without running deeper into the enemy base * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Your teammates begin firing at the opponent. He ducks back behind the tree. Fires a shot at the enemy and continues charging at the base (hold on a sec) Your shot goes wide of the tree no target was hit * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: As you move deeper into the enemy base, two more enemies with 110s step out from behind the other trees on your left. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The front tree in the center area no longer conceals an enemy troops with a CPS 2500 You are fired at. (dodge?) dodges Evasion successful Fires a shot at guy with 2500 * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: A blast reaches out from your own weapon to strike the enemy holding the 2500. Two more shots come at you from the enemies with the 110s dodges * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You dodge both shots. The enemy with the 2500 steps back behind one of the trees slightly further forward and exits your field of vision shoots at enemies holding 110s (in rapid succession or in timed sequence?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Your teammates shot the enemy with the 275 and begin charging forward under your lead (in rapid succession) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Both your shots hit. The enemies each drop their last token and leave the battlefield. continues charging at enemy base (don't let it go to your head, you're getting VERY lucky) (hold on, let me write the description) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: You move forward and can now see all 8 of the remaining enemies. On the far side (n/s) of the battlefield, two enemies with 110s guard the other approach. Here, you can see two enemies with CPS 1000s from behind the trees, with the same enemy with the CPS 2500 backing them up. Three enemies, each with an XXP 275, are next to a hammock. The hammock is the center of the enemy base. (Any cover?) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: War cries ring out and both teams begin exchanging fierce fire. Three shots come your way within the first 15 seconds dodges You search for cover, but find none except the three trees which hid your first three assailants. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The first two shots fly by, but the third shot hits you. You drop your second of three tokens and begin back to your base. runs back to the base you see only Warwick and the other defender. They ask you for news =8 enemies left. The rest of our group is still attacking them= *** RecruWarwick (RecruWarw@ltbrpx01-port-2.agt.net) has joined #SS_RPG =They have mainly heavy weapons left= (Status please.) *** RecruWarwick is now known as Warwick (werewolf is back at the base after being hit) Is here there permenently ? (your team's forces are attacking the enemy base, when werewolf left them there were 8 enemies left) (You each have 1 token left) (I think he was about to leave and re-join the fighting . . .) (Can I join in the attack ?) (I (Are there any extra weapons here?) (Your character may attempt to do anything you wish) (I'll go back with Werewolf.) I'm going to the battle. (Currently present is werewolf, Warwick, "Dark" (other defender), three 110s and 1 40 * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: As you return, the fighting is less dense. Several players have been eliminated on both sides. Returns to battle (is werewolf coming back as well?) (ok) (I previously dropped the XP 40 on the battlefield but not inside the base.) Warwick dodges enemy fire and tries to make out who is still remaining. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: including yourselves, there are 7 people left on your team * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: There are 6 enemies left * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Apparently one of the enemies has now switched to an XP 40 Warwick pumps his 110. (Warwick has only a 110 BTW.) (I know) (What did the enemy holding the 40 previously hold?) (Would that affect my aim ?) (Warwick: only slightly) (werewolf: you don't know, you don't keep track of enemies personally that well) (Wars are won in the small details.) Warwick continues to watch the opponents while hiding. (Does this let me know what the enemies have ?) The remaining enemies hold as follows: 1 CPS 2500, 1 1000, 1 275, 2 110, 1 40 (They're not exactly concealed at this point) (Where am I?) Warwick shoots the enemy with a 110 while dodging return fire. (Last I knew, you were both on the fringes of the battle; about at the lawn) (hold on, I'll roll) Shoots the enemy holding the 275 * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Warwick misses and is hit by return fire. He drops his final token and leaves the battlefield. (you may remain in IRC and watch) I'm out of the game then ? (you're out of the game-within-the-game) Warwick walks back to the base. (Why do I always miss ?) (your roll is 6+, and you just don't seem to roll that high . . .) (That's alot better than my fellow companions.) * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: werewolf hits the enemy with the 275. Two shots come back his way from the enemies with the 110s (werewolf has 4+ for both Aim and Evasion) dodges * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: werewolf dodges the first blast but is hit by the second. He loses his final token. * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The game continues as follows: * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Three of your teammates turn and move around the center three-tree area to attack from the other side as a 3000 and AS 275 continue to attack from the side you were on * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Two enemies make the mistake of hiding from one party behind a tree only to be hit by the other. The last three enemies make a final stand at the hamock * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Moving to fire at them straight on from next to the center tree closest to your base, your teammate with the 3000 shoots and strikes two of them, one of which still has a spare marker but the other of which is out * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: The teams are now: * Gamemaster ENEMY: 1 CPS 1000, 1 XXP 275 * Gamemaster YOUR TEAM: 1 CPS 3000, 1 AS 275, 1 XP 110 * Gamemaster OCCURRENCE: Your teammates close in, firing in tandem. Only the person with the AS 275 is shot down before both enemies are eliminated and the base taken. (Whoever can use an AS 275 at close range and be shot is a poor officer.) All players from both teams meet at the center of the field to listen to the standard lecture from the training sgt. =Excellent game, by all!= =I congratulate everyone on their skill displayed in this game! We'll give a good lesson to anyone who opposes us!= =Well, its late, and that completes training for today. Everyone go home and get some rest, I'll be handing out your next missions tomorrow.= ========================================Session Ends========================================
