Enrollment in the fall of 1981 was 11,303, according to the Indiana Department of Public Instruction records. When compared to the 1997-02 five-year average, enrollment has fallen by 543 students, or 4.8%.

The indication is that enrollment has been declining over the past twenty years and that decrease has accelerated in recent years.
