Urza's Legacy Draft - Green

Green continues to get nasty, nasty cards in Urza's Legacy, with everyone's favourite permachant, and some rather fat stuff...

Defense of the Heart So much better in draft. Your opponent will nearly always have three creatures, and if he doesn't, you'll be winning anyway. This brings you right back into contention if you were behind onc reatures, and if you were even, this pokes your head out front. Superb card.
Deranged Hermit Ooooh, tokens. 4 2/2 creatures in addition to the Hermit is a bargain, and even keeping them as 1/1s after the Hermit dies is a good deal. Grab it early.
Gang of Elk Fat that gets fatter when it's blocked. What more could we want? Of course, they don't have to block it, but we'd like that even more...Give it trample. Quick.
Hidden Gibbons Instants are staples of this format, and you can be pretty sure your monkeys will wake up and give you a 4/4 critter. Add in the deterrent factor and you have a strong middle pick.
Lone Wolf Very strong, just short of great. Also known as Little Thorn, a rime target for Rancor or anything to make him fatter. Stops chumps dead. Early middle pick.
Might of Oaks Bang. +7/+7 is awesome. Simply awesome. Turns the lowliest elf into a killing machine. If your opponent knows you drafted one of these, he will be afraid to let anything through unblocked, meaning you will be wiping out all his creatures. And if he does let one through...
Multani, Maro-Sorcerer Untargettable guys always kick ass. But one that gets bigger after every card draw? Although you won't always want to hold back cards, this guys is still going to be big. And in combination with something like a Sunder...
Multani's Acolyte Drawing a card is a good thing. So is a 2/1 for 2. A 2/2 would have been better, but we can't be too picky. Take it middle.
Multani's Presence Under Classic rules, this card got a lot stronger, and actually became worth playing in draft. Any time you manage to sac a creature in response, or make it an illegal target, you get to draw a card. Works great with Claws of Gix...
Rancor Seldom has one common been so widely played in both limited and constructed. The best green enchant creature ever. Take it first or second. And be very happy.
Silk Net Blocking flying creatures is a very useful ability in draft, as evasion often makes the difference. The cheapness and the +1/+1 make the card that much better.
Simian Grunts Surprise - nothin' beats surprise. A 3/4 creature is nothing to sniff at anyway, and one that can be played to kill a 3/3 attacker out of nowhere gets bonuse points. Echo makes it a bit more risky, but it's still a top pick.
Weatherseed Treefolk Fat that resurrects itself. I know it's only 3 toughness, but it tramples and it comes back. Trust me, it needs to be taken early. You'll get laughed at otherwise.
Yavimaya Wurm He would be Hot! if green didn't already have so much top-quality fat in this format. Overloading on fat can be dangerous, as it elevates your mana curve too much. Still, a trampling 6/4 is still worth a look.
