Queen Leene is Marle's ancestor from 600 AD. When Marle is accidently transported to the past, she is mistaken for Queen Leene, due to her appearance. As a result the search for the missing queen is called off. This results in Marle being erased from history, sending Crono and Lucca on a quest to find the real queen. Eventually, the real queen is located, and everything returns to normal. Marle may look like the queen, but other than that, they couldn't be more different! Leene is mild and reserved, a perfect stereotypical image of a queen. Marle is loud and rebellious, her exact opposite. Leene is also the famous for the bell, errected in her name, which to this day, rings in the morning for the citizens of the current kingdom of Guardia. A symbol of peace that lasted 400 years.
