
Magus is the all-powerful sorcerer and commander of the Mystic Army of 600 AD, who turns out to be not as evil as everyone thinks. Underneath Magus the villian, there is a hidden past. One that can be traced back all the way to 12 000 BC. Magus is actually Janus, son of Queen Zeal, ruler of the magical kingdom of Zeal. Janus was a child who kept to himself. He appears to be moody, solitary, and mysterious. His only friends were his pet cat and Schala, his half sister. Everyone in the kingdom of Zeal believed that Janus posessed little or no magical power, and most had no respect for the child at all. His sister was the object of the affection and praise. Appearances are deceiving however, as it turns out that Janus is more powerful than even his mother the Queen. All was not a bed of roses in the kingdom. His mother had become a pawn of the evil Lavos and the destruction of the Enlightened Ones and Zeal was coming. Knowing nothing of these matters, Janus was taken by surprise when his own mother kidnapped his half-sister to activate the Mammon Machine and awaken Lavos. Janus went to save her only to get dragged into a portal and end up in 600 AD. Here he was raised by Ozzie and became the leader of the Mystics, Magus. Magus never got over what Lavos had done to him and vowed revenge. Revenge drove him nearly over the edge and painted his soul black. He was obsessed with it. Magus' magic is shadow type and the most powerful in the game. He uses the scythe as his weapon and its use gives him almost a Grim Reaper appearance. Magus is an awesome character. His attack is strong an his magic is wickedly powerful. His only downside is that he knows no dual or triple techniques without the use of stones, but with his power, who needs them.
Lightning 2 - Lightning erupts from Magus' chest, striking all enemies (Requires: 8 MP)
Ice 2 - Two huge blocks of ice fall from both sides, crushing all enemies (Requires: 8 MP)
Fire 2 - Things start to heat up and fire erupts everywhere, burning all enemies (Requires: 8 MP)
Dark Bomb - A shadow bomb is summonded and explodes, dealing damage to enemies in the bomb area (Requires: 8 MP)
Magic Wall - Magus conjures a wall to block a bit of magic attacks, uping an ally's magic defence (Requires: 8 MP)
Dark Mist - A dark form of Water 2, dark mist envelops all enemies (Requires: 10 MP)
Black Hole - A black hole is opening causing an instant killer for some enemies on the screen (Requires: 15 MP)
DarkMatter - Massive black magic damage as an almost starstorm effect is created (Requires: 20 MP)
