- Grade: A-
- Crystal clear copy from the Japan Nude tour show that was broadcast
on TV. HI FI video copies are in circulation, making this and the 50
other boots of this show of little necessity.

- This little number is the concert from the Japense PPV event back in
Feb of 94. It contained all the shows he performed on stage, plus it
has some studio tracks and intermission fillers. This is a must for those
who love his mid 90's turn from rock. Limited to 1500 copies (I picked
up #441).
- Review
- This is exactly the same CD as
Love Simple's Interactive Night
with some minor differences on the cover: Instead of Love Simple
the symbol is printed. Some tracks are now correctly written
(Days Of Wild instead of Face of wild) and the disc is
red instead of green.
Intermission (2CD)
Paris aftershow 30.Aug.1993

- No catalog #
- Review
- 2CD of the complete 8/30/93 aftershow in Paris. VG
quality.
- Prince's performance at the Rex Club in Paris on the morning of
9/1/93 has fast become one of the definitive aftershows among
collectors. Not only does the show include unique selections from his
'Prince' catalog, but also displays over a half a dozen unreleased cuts.
This audience recording is immaculate. Just listen to 'Poor Goo' and be
amazed at the sound quality come through your speakers. This is the
recording by which later audience recordings will be measured by. The
'Intermission' double CD set is the best sounding complete copy of the
show. 'Black MF' sounds every bit as good as 'Intermission' but is only
1 CD and is missing the final 4 songs of the show. 'Black MF' comes
encased in a wonderful looking digipak in full color, far superior to
the lame packaging of 'Intermission' which even has incorrect
information on the sleeve. For instance, 'Intermission' states that the
show is a USA aftershow, which it is not. Nevertheless, go with
'Intermission' due to the sound quality alone or 'Black MF' if you don't
need the last few songs and don't want to pay for a double CD. Another
double CD release of the complete Rex show titled 'Live at the Rex'
comes in a wonderful package and has some bonus cuts but has inferior
sound quality to that of 'Intermission'. Go with the sound quality.

- DISC LENGTH : 73:46
- OVERALL SOUND QUALITY : Audience [*] recorded tracks are VG-,
remaining tracks are VG to EX-, varying greatly.
- SOURCE: [*] = audience recordings of Glam Slam Ulysses studio
versions. All remaining tracks are soundboard studio.
- COMMENTS : Pretty much a worthless release to my ears. This is an
identical copy of the Hold Me bootleg that came out last
year (see Uptown issue #15, page 8). Uptown praised it for the 5
Glam Slam Ulysses tracks which were supposedly recorded at a
Spanish club during Act II. The Ulysses tracks are no longer
highly sought after since the entire production is presented on
the superior
Silver
double CD set. Tracks 6-10 appear on many, many other more
worhtwhile boots. The last 4 tracks of Crystal Ball
material are very nice quality and a novelty to have but do not
make this CD worth the price, especially since taped copies of
these songs are circulating with better quality. Packaging is
indeed nice with the cover and inlay photos pulled from last years
Q magazine cover interview issue. But packaging should be
no reason to buy this.
- RECOMMENDATION : Beginning collectors may find more use for this
disc, even moreso if you can't obtain the
Silver CD with
the Ulysses tracks. Novice or expert collectors should
certainly be able to do without this one.
- The quality of this CD is very close to excellent. The live tracks
are B sound quality, while the studio tracks are
A- or B+. The tracks themselves are a
must have for serious O(+> fans.
Hold Me is a mesmerizing ballad - a must-have for those
who love slow jams. Allegiance is a R&B tune with
a very mellow flavor. Your Love is so Hard is the
entire version, not the shortened version from
the Jewel Box CD. Same thing with Crystal Ball
(Expert Lover). Joy in Repetition includes the
entire introduction - it's not the
fucked-up edited crap from the Graffiti Bridge album.
Rebirth of the Flesh seems clearer on this CD than on
Jewel Box I and Jewel Box II. Come
is a different version than the one on the album Come.
This Come track is like the Come track from
Platinum. Race is different from the version
on the album Come. Furthermore, this CD is filled to the
max with 74 minutes of live and studio music.
Some drawbacks: The Voice is a good song, when sung by
Prince. But, it's better when Mavis Staples sings it. The song
was written to perfectly fit Mavis's lovely voice and she can
really carry the song to another level. In The Flesh's
The Voice has the music of the track
The Voice: Part 2 on Yellow. Another problem
is with the live tracks: The volume of the music tends to
fluctuate slightly throughout the live songs. But it's not a r
eally big problem. I would rate this CD as a 9 out of 10.

- Contains the Barcelona 93 aftershow. The cover is very nice (Prince with
band + some live shots) and the quality sounds (to my ears) a little bit
better than on the
Estandard CD (which contains
the same gig). Unfortunately the last track Johnny is missing!
