The Dove

Gravel
On the ground
Trampled on
By rushed crowds

The dove screams
As I cut myself
Repeatedly
To remind myself
Of you

You who trampled on me
Me like gravel
Kicked about
Scattered around

Flying free now
Like the dove
While I look down
The dove cries
In the cage

How unfair
Is life
You always in control
Poor dove, in my place

Disgrace
No blood yet upon the fowl
Innocent bird
Helpless creature

Spotless, untainted
Not yet touched
Down cometh I
Unlock the cage
Free the dove

Takes its place
Back now where I belong
Dove up where she flies
Bound to this life
Just go away dove!

My pain oozes out
From under my skin
Feeling free for a moment
Sheltered under the red sky

White dove
Hovers over
Screams
As I cut

Trickles to the ground
Fertilizing the soil
Red ground
Red sky
White dove

Sun burns up
Into a black ball
The scarlet ground glistens
Shining brightly
In the void

White dove drinks
I sleep
Never to awaken again
The dove lives
Pure in the world
