Texas Renaissance Festival
October, 1999

I FIRST attended the Texas Ren Fest in 1999!
(Pix on this page are from 1999.)

Since then, I’ve also attended in 2000 …
and, I already have my PLANE TIX for my 2001 attendance!!!

Besides being a Fantabulous “reason” to visit my Texas Fandamily
The TEX REN FEST is an incredibly HUGE and Wondrous Faire to attend.

Thus, I plan to attend EVERY YEAR, ad infinitum!!!

Gypsy Queen Jodi
& Ms. Chas

During August and September of 1999,
I made costumes for everyone.
Then I flew to Houston in October
to escort the Texas Fandamily

to their first-evah
Renaissance Festival!

(I had purchased swords for my
Texas nephews at the Kansas City
Ren Fest in September. Arguing
with UNITED to let me fly with
Wooden Swords in my possession
was a HOOT! It took a LOT of
“fast-talking,” but they finally
agreed to let them on board!)

Ms. Chas & the Kidz

Throughout our terrifically fun
TX Renaissance Festival
experience, we were often
approached by hopeful parents,
begging us to tell them where
they could purchase similar
“Knight” costumes for

their boyz
having rightfully
admired the attire of
Sir Erik, the Red
and Sir Reed, the Gold!

Obviously, I had to “disappoint” these parents!
(“I made them, and they’re not for sale!”)

However, it was Mistress Taylor and her “Gypsy Princess” costume
that drew the MOST attention from the
TX Renaissance Festival PERFORMERS!
Gypsy Princess Taylor was
personally selected from a
HUGE crowd by the Red Knight
(not her brother, Sir Erik the Red
– but, the Red Knight who
PROFESSIONALLY JOUSTED!)

and was gifted with his “FAVOR!”
The favor? The silk floral headdress
she wears in almost all of these photos!

During the Festival Grande Parade, Mistress Taylor also attracted the attention of many Parade participants, who gifted her with several flowers. Later, the Master of Jousting Ceremonies sought Mistress Taylor out, ON HORSEBACK, and plucked one of her flowers! “I ride for thee, Lady,” said he, gently kissing the blossom, nodding to her in reverence, and then trotting off.
