God rested

God’s heaven and the angels were created
here; God also separated light from dark.
"The waters above" seems to indicate that a
water canopy was formed above the earth;
this would spread out the sun's heat over all
the earth.

God formed the beasts that roam the land
from out of the ground, and He brought each
of them to the man to be named.
God blessed seventh day, and He later set it
aside as the Sabbath Day. Exodus 20:11
states clearly that the world was made in six
24-hour periods.

One point of interest: "Let us"? The Trinity at work in creation (See Colossians 1:16)

Purpose for each creation

Day 1: A dwelling place for God’s creations;
light needed for eyes to see and used for photosynthesis
Day 2: A safe atmosphere for organic creatures

Day 3: Seed-bearing plants for man, green plants for animals
(vv. 29-30)

Day 4: Signs to mark seasons and days and years; govern day and night

Day 5: birds and fish are to be fruitful and increase

Day 6: Man - fill the earth, subdue it, rule over every creature; work and care for the Garden of Eden
Woman - a suitable helper for the man,
form family bond

The universe was created for us to know God.

Romans 1:19-20 says that God’s existence should be obvious from looking at creation.
God created man in His image.
Day 1: God is Powerful - He made something out of nothing
Day 2: God is our Protector - There is a protective layer above the earth
Day 3: God is our Provider - He provided food for man and animals
Day 4: God is Sovereign - He governs the universe
Day 5: God is Creative - There is a variety of color and design
Day 6: God is Intelligent - He created man to think and reason

You were created with purpose.
God created you Psalm 139:13-16
Everything we make has a purpose - pencils, watches, dressers, frescoes
God made us to have a relationship with Him
Our purpose is to revere Him and obey Him - like our parents
Honor Him with the abilities He has given you - Johann Sebastian Bach would write Soli Deo Gloria on each musical composition; it means "to the glory of God alone"
