I was born 5/31/76 in Columbus, Nebraska. In Columbus I went to Scotus Central Catholic Highschool. I also worked for 5 years at a grocery store called Family Thrift Center where I was a stock boy and carried out people's groceries to their cars.
At age 18 I ventured off to college in Lincoln at the University of Nebraska. At college I was a member of Triangle Fraternity. I spent 5 years in college majoring in Construction Engineering. I taught for the University for 2 years teaching information technology. I also owned my own web design company and developed my own search engine. Eventually received my Bachelors degree in the College of Engineering in 1999.
On August 5th, 2000 I got married to Jennifer Marie Conley, my longtime girlfriend from Cedar Lake, IN. We had a nice wedding in Cedar Lake. My brothers Michael and Doug were my best men. Ryan Gottsch and Jennifer's brother Brian also stood up in the wedding. My friends Joe Henning and Matt Scherer were our ushers. Since I had just started a new job I didn't have enough vacation time to take a long honeymoon so we spend a few days at the Radison in Chicago.
Career:
After college I took a job with HBE as a Project Engineer in Saint Louis, MO. While working for HBE I was head of bank projects throughout the southwestern US and one hospital in King City, CA. After about a half year of living in Saint Louis I decided that big city life just wasn't for me and moved back to Nebraska.
Once back in Nebraska I moved to Valley and work as a Structural Engineer/Estimator/Designer for Christensen Lumber Co. While working here I have worked on projects that range from small single family houses all the way to large commercial projects. Some of my favorite projects are Salvation Army in downtown Omaha, Rick's Boatyard & Cafe of the riverfront and Burger King at 180th & West Center. I have also engineered approximately 1200 houses in the Omaha Metro.
It is still a very inspiring feeling knowing that I play such a big part in the construction of so many homes and businesses. However, if one of these buildings should happen to fall down, then I will probably be held responsible. Oh well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)
My Home Life:
Jennifer and I bought our first home in August 2001. Our address is 1730 N Park Ave, Fremont, NE 68025. It is a nice 4 bedroom home and we love all our neighbors.
We have two pets, Shelby the cat and Bailey the dog. Bailey loves going for walks and chewing on one of her bones. Shelby likes to sleep and torment Bauiley.
In my spare time I enjoy numerous things such as traveling, playing baseball and basketball, and doing work in the yard. Chances are if you come over you'll find me down in my workshop attempting to build/fix something.
Well, there you go. All you ever wanted to know about me, Dan Demuth. To all my old friends out there from Triangle, stay in touch. Give me a call sometime at (402)350-2210, email me below, or stop by if you're ever in Fremont. God bless and have a great 2005!
