Greetings, as you may have guessed, I am W. Christian "Mental" Ward. I am currently a Captain in the US Air Force, living just outside of Oklahoma City in the college town of Norman with my lovely bride and our 3 dogs

For those who don't know, after a tour in USAFE I was transferred to Offutt AFB NE . After 3 1/2 years there, I was offered an AF ROTC scholarship. Two years later, I received my degree in Philosophy from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and was commissioned through  AF ROTC Detachment 470 (Ouhrah Wolfpack!). No, I do not think deep thoughts about being unemployed. I think really deep thoughts about being a AF officer, the greatest job in the world. So take that with your little undergrad business degree you regional Burger King manager!!! Oh, and when you get your paycheck, and see that chunk taken out for taxes, just remember, not only does that pay for me to be here, it pays me EXTRA! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Seriously, I love my degree, and I love what I do.

After commissioning, I was re-assigned to Offutt at the 343RD Reccon Sq for casual status until I left for Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) at Vance AFB here in Oklahoma. Well, after 4 of the more challenging months of my life, I was eliminated from pilot training and reclassified as an Air Battle Manager.

Lead-in training for Air Battle Managers is located at Tyndall AFB FL, just outside of Panama City.  It was also extremely challenging, and after a few close calls, I graduated and was shipped to the 552 Wing at Tinker AFB OK. At the beginning of December of 2002, I completed the academic portion of my ABM mission qualification training. In January of 2003 I hit the road for a four month stint at Nellis AFB Nevada. Vegas baby, Vegas. When I returned to Tinker in May, I started the flying portion. In August I graduated, and finally earned my wings as a bonified Air Battle Manager. I am currently assigned to the 965 AACS. and still at Tinker. Lemme tell ya, the 965 ROCKS!!

After some time therte, I volunteered tobe an Unarmed Military Observer for the United Nations Mission in Eritrea and Ethiopia. That was indeed a challenge. I lost 30 lbs, endured what I thought I could never take, made some great freinds and learned alot about myself and my fellow man.

Right now I am restoring a Kawasaki motorcycle, and a Triumph TR4, building a deadicated autocross car from a 1990 Nissan 240, and building my second race car for the Grassroots Motorsports $2006 Challenge . The slow process of all these projects, and my autocrossing has been documented by my buddies at the eVil Alliance. You can find the pictures here.

I attended the Panoz Raciing school in July of 05 and I am hoping to have a competition car and be running wheel to wheel by 2006.

I thank you for visiting and wish you the best in your pursuit of your goals.
