Starburst USA Guide (Printable)

A Semi-glitz system.   Competition will be held on one stage in conjunction with the Dare to Dream... pageant in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 19-22, at the beautiful Ft Worth Holiday Inn North.   Reservations can be made by calling 817-625-9911 or by stopping by at 2540   Meacham Blvd., Ft. Worth, Tx.  All contestants MUST stay at the hotel.   Hotel rooms are $79 per nite and reservations must be made by June 15th to receive special rate.

Pageant Ages: 6mths-Adult

Age Divisions; Baby--6-12mth, 13-24mth, 25-35mth,

3-4yr, 5-6yr. 7-9yr, 10-12yr. 13-15yr. 16-18yr,19+, Elegant

These contestants will be competing in Casual Wear (Off the Rack, School, Church,etc..), Interview and Evening Gown.   Basic beauty modeling is allowed only.

Judging is based on the following:

Personality, Appearance in pageant attire, overall appearance and Beauty

*General Information

Camera/ Videos      Collage International   will be handling all pictures.  No Cameras or Camcorders will be allowed in the ballroom.   We will have special prices for videos and pictures at registration.

Door Entry Fees  Contestants receive one free entry for a parent, all other applicants must pay to enter the ballroom.  FEES/ALL WEEKEND: Adult-$25.00  Children-(5-15)-$10.00   5 and under are FREE.  This special price is for the whole weekend.

Makeup/Hairstyles  H/M will be allowed, only in moderation  No makeup on babies 6 months to 2 years.

Judging Six judges will be rotating during various competitions between the two pageants to prevent low balling by one judge.  Each will have a background in Personal pageant experience with children in all aspects of the competition.  Judges decisions are final.  Scores will be handed out at the end of the competition.

Mandatory Competitions

Interview  There will be a 3-5 minute personal interview with the judges.  You will wear the Starburst USA National... T-shirt, black shorts, pants, or skirt with little white tennis.  You may either interview on Thursday nite upon arrival or Friday morning.    We will give you a time slot for interview so that everyone is not in the hallway at the same time. We will try to place babies as early as possible,   Interview is 30%

Casual Wear Casual Wear is off the rack, School, Church. No Jeans, Please   Basic Modeling is required.  Score 10%

Evening Gown   Any type of gown is allowed.  Any amount of glitz.  Judging based on poise, personality and beauty   Score 10%

*Optionals

You may choose 4 of the six optionals included with the mandatory competition to compete for the supreme title.  You may do all 6 optionals ,but we will only choose the top 4 scores.

Theme Any type of outfit is required that depicts the theme "Stars Forever".  You may bring props.  Only up to a 2 minutes freestyle modeling is allowed on stage for routine.

Denim Wear  Any type of  Denim Wear is allowed.  Denim Wear must be made of at least 50% denim, any color, any amount of glitz.

Photogenic  Photogenic competition consists of submitting an 8x10 color or black/white photo (Head Shot Only!) at registration.   Judging is based on facial expression, beauty, clarity or photo and overall photogenic quality.

Portfolio The portfolio competition consists of submitting a binder with up to 10 pictures allowed.  The pictures can be either color or black/white and should consist of head and body shots in various poses.  Please place name on inside of portfolio and bring to registration. 

Angelface  This competition consists of a photo taken after interview by Collage International.  The picture  will be judged on natural facial beauty.

Talent  This competition is open to contestants 3 and up.  Contestants will have 3 minutes to perform their talent.   Props are allowed and can be placed on stage.  Please make sure that all tapes are cued and ready to go.  Uncued tapes will result in a point deduction.

Personality (Baby Only)  This will be part of the competition judged during interview portion of the competition.

*Model of Year

This title will be given out to the contestant that has the highest points in Casual Wear and Denim Wear.   Prizes  will consist of Crown,& Satin Sash & Cash on Stage

*Cover Girl

Any contestant that would like to compete for the Front Cover of the Starburst USA National portion of the program book.  Prize includes:  Cover, Crown and Custom Embroidered Satin Sash

*Mother/Father/Daughter Competition

The team with the highest scores for their routine, the routine can be anything from runway modeling to a lip-synck or talent number.  You will have up to 3 minutes.  This competition will be held during the banquet and ball.  Crowns and sashes will be given out and returning queens may participate.  Have a cued tape ready for competition.

*Pro-Am Model--Starburst Only

Highest scores will receive Crown, Sash and $250 Cash on Stage. 

*Spokesmodel--Starburst Only

A 3-5 minute speech on any subject.  The speech must be memorized.  Cash Scholarship will be awarded.  Ages 10-18 only.

*Academic Awards

The contestant that presents documents to substatiate their academic scores.  Letters by teachers, report cards, and type of documentation is allowed.  Please place in a binder and bring to regular registration.  Scolarship given.
