Now what is cuter than this little itty bitty tiny slimy
green frog called
the coqui, native to (and only to) Puerto Rico. There name comes from
the sound they make... "coqui...coqui..coqui". Even if you
call somebody
on the phone, chances are you will hear the coqui. They start to sing their
song shortly after sundown, and sing until sunrise, as the night goes on
their singing gets louder and louder...
You barely see them, and if you do, there so tiny, that you have to look
hard, fully grown the coqui is about the size of your thumbnail, but being
so tiny doesn't stop them from being heard. Trust, they are VERY loud.
Kinda like us puerto ricans are... =)
They cannot survive outside of Puerto Rico, I don't know why, I ain't
no scientist, but I do know that for a fact. So if you ever go to Puerto
Rico, you can't miss the coqui, well their big mouth that is....
P.S. If you turn up the volume you can hear
the coqui...(Hopefully) =o)
