Created as a hybrid being comprised of human cells and a lifeform known as Mass, Ryoko is the genetic daughter of the revered scientist Washu. She was later
on captured by Washu's old pupil Kagato who sealed away
Washu and then took control of Ryoko and used her to
help him plunder the galaxy as a space pirate. Ryoko then tangled with a prince from the planet Jurai where they came to Earth and fought in a furious battle which resulted in Ryoko being imprisioned in a cave. Centuries later, Tenchi, the grandson of the Jurain prince(unaware of his own heritage), accidently freed Ryoko from her cave and she began to pester him as his lover which he personally didn't want any part of. Later on, two princesses from Jurai and a Galaxy Policewoman also joined up Ryoko as Kagato appeared again. The battle ended up with Washu being freed and
everyone living on Earth in Tenchi's house. Ryoko is currently not wanted for her original crimes against the galaxy. She is gifted with extrodinary abilities like flying, phase transition, teleportation, super-strength, and the power to conduct energy blasts and
focus them into an energy sword. She also has the peculiar habit of growing a catlike tail when she feels the occasion calls for it. Most times, Ryoko uses
her pet Ryo-Ohki to get along in space as she can turn
into a spaceship. Ryo-Ohki is also part-Mass and the two of them are sisters in a way as they were both created by Washu. Ryoko spends most of her days goofing
off and trying to seduce Tenchi while keeping him away
from the advances of his other would-be suitors.
