Gatomon is part of a race of creatures called Digimon
that live in a realm called the Digi-world. There,
everything is living pieces of digital energy. Gatomon
originally started out as a proto-lifeform that looked
like a cat head with a tail. It eventually evolved(like all Digimon can do) into a doglike form called
Salaomon. After a while, it was hired by an evil dark lord of the Digi-world and then gained its form of Gatomon which is the state it usually stays in. The dark lord later on ordered Gatomon to go search for a child who was part of a group of defenders called the Digi-Destined and seek destroy their eigth unknown
warrior. But Gatomon changed its ways as it found the
eighth child and helped the rest of the Digi-Destined to drive out the dark lords with her new evolved form
Angewoman. It can evolve even furthur into its ultimate form as Magdramon. Most of the time, Gatomon
stays in its catlike form but can evolve or de-evolve
when its necessary.
