On the back is one of three toasts:

May your sons be brave
Your daughters marriageable
Your wife loving
And your kinfolks rich.

~~~~~
May you ride an easy-walking horse,
Sleep 'neath a rain-tight roof,
And eat high on the hog,
Every day of the year.
~~~~~

May you always have
Red-eye gravy with your ham
Hushpuppies with your catfish
And the good sense not
To argue with your wife.

You're getting old
if the gleam in your eye

~~~~~
If you're pushing forty
that's exercise enough.
~~~~~

Don't be so busy
bringing home the bacon
that you forget the applesauce.
