Aidom (AA-dom) - a Kelsan town between Kelsan and the Helshavell; governed by Mayor Zacheria

Alissa, Second Chair Sorceress of the Cult of the Fire Moon (AH-liss-AH) - Alissa is Crysalis' oldest daughter and is Ezaziel's fiancé

Alith (AA-lith) - the aliths are a species of animal found only on the plane of Roden; they have serpentine bodies with heads of eagles - sometimes covered with feathers or scales; some alith's also have legs, wings or fins

Artifacts of Brilliance - four artifacts from the time of the mythical Planeswalker War that promises the one who possess all four immense power; the artifacts include the Orb of Brilliance, the Crown of Brilliance, the Scepter of Brilliance, and the Sovereign Robe

Asterion, Kelsan Sage (AS-terr-ION ) - Asterion is an artificer who is interested in creating golems and currently resides in Kelsan under the supervision of Vampire Lord Trenton

Azuren, Calderian Capital - the capital city of the Calderian Empire of the Tarian Isles

Caliban, the Devourer - the god of the Varal elves and the Cremorian empire, who is said to come into the world and devour all the unfaithful

Charion, Cremorian Capital - Captial city of the Cremorian Empire; location of the Palace of Caliban

Cheyquon, High Priest (SHEY-kwahn) - a very devout High Priest of Verthandi of the La'adian town of Sha'toria

Chomper, Goblin Warlord - a squat, strong, and outspoken goblin warrior of Magestor Esquires war-band, Chomper hungers for position

Cremoria - an empire in the Tarian Isles that, over the years, has used up its resources; generals and the emperor raid the Calderian Empire and Tanglewood for resources

Exodore Praxis, Mercenary - a human mercenary with an unknown past, who has recently been emploted by the dwarven King Khararm Ironfist of the Tarian Isles.

Eyrar(EYE-rahr) - a wild beast native to Tanglewood with black fur, red stripes, and greenish-yellow eyes

Ezaziel of the Cult of the Fire Moon (Ee-ZAY-ziel) - a strong fire mage from Montear, Ezaziel can cast cataclysmic fire storms and is Alissa's fiancé

Feast Mount - a mountain in the "Mucklands" occupied by the orcs and goblins of Roden

Forest of Mist - Roden's largest forest that is roamed by a heavy fog, is located north of the Lady's Plain on the Rodenian mainland's western coast; home to elves, druids, and beasts; commonly known as "Mistwood"

Ghouls - ghouls are bodies rasied from the dead who hunger for flesh

Gliedak, Master Necromancer (GLII-dack) - the most powerful black wizard on Roden who resides in the Nexus at Kelsan

Goblins - goblins are found throughout the Multiverse and are short and stupid; the goblins of Roden can be found in the Burning Sands, or under the commands of the orcs at Feast Mount or the surrounding "Mucklands"

Gowwil (GO-will) - the central city of the Gowwilier Empire, Gowwil is located on the east shore of the Helshavell and on a major tributary; known for feast days and trade

Gulex (GOO-lecks) - a Balavan port town on the Rodenian mainland's northern shore

Gure, Vampiric Necromancer (GURE) - Gure is the general of Trenton's undead armies and also uses black magic to a limited extent

Hejlia, Port City (HEDGE-lee-ah ) - the major city of the trading empire of Hejlia is positioned on the southern coast of the Burning Sands; Hejlia has nine Guilds, each with a Lord, throughout it's three towns; the city and empire of Hejlia is ruled by a king

Hydras - multiheaded beasts about three spans tall that can magically regenerate lost heads, and grows two back for every one lost; found in the Forest of Mist

Ioun Stones (EYE-on) - stones that contain either mana, abilities that can be activated by mana, or continuous effects; these stones are found mainly in possessions of wizards and collectors, but can also be found in the Ioun Mountains

Isem, Captain (IH-sem) - captain of the Noble Ferry, Merfolk's Head and Gheddeus Kleb; merchant

Jaredei, Missionary of Verthandi (JER-reh-DIE) - Jaredei is one of the friar's in the La'adian town of Karthemon near the Burning Sands and is talented in the healing magics

Jeklar, Vampiric Lieutenant (JEK-larr) - a newly-positioned vampire, Jeklar is assigned to Cynthias' army in the Burning Sands

Jeva, Zacheria's Secretary (HEVA) - a citizen of the Kelsan town of Aidom and Mayor Zacheria's secretary

Jewel, Apprentice Shapeshifter - a young, untrained shapeshifter of about thirteen years of age who lives by herself in the Forest of Mist

Karthemon (CAR-tha-MONN) - a La'adian town in the Lady's Plain near the Burning Sands, Karthemon is La'adia's farthest settlement and holds a Temple to Verthandi; it is a town for those who wish to turn to Verthandi's Light and repent their sins; ruled by High Priest Inel and protected by the Knights of the Bright Moon

Kei the Accursed (KII) - a necromancer from the Nexus at Kelsan who is in Cynthias' army under the orders of Trenton

Kelsan, City of the Dead (KELL-sun) - the central city of the empire of Kelsan, it is ruled by various vampire lords and is home to many necromancers who reside in the Nexus, the central tower in Kelsan; Kelsan is located east of the Helshavell and north of the Burning Sands

Khararm Ironfist, King of Olrigar(CAR-ARM Iron-fist) - dwarven king of the dwarves of the Dwarfhavens in the Tanglewood mountains in the Tarian Isles

Kila, Scholar City (KEE-la) - central city of the Kilan Empire, Kila is Roden's seat of magic and learning, located east of the Helshavell on the Rodenian mainland's northern shore, as well as the islands between the Rodenian mainland and the Ice Wastes

Kira, Queen of Calderia(KEERA) - the young widowed queen lost her husband, the king, when he was killed in a hunting accident; she had proven to be very devoted, and works to keep the Cremorians at bay

Kledion, Illusionary City (CLAY-dee-in) - the only city on the island of Kledion ruled by the wizard Zazdor

Kledion, Island (CLAY-dee-in) - a remote island north of the Rodenian mainland shrouded in fog and mystery

Koan, Master Shapeshifter (KOWN) - a mature shapeshifter who resides in the Forest of Mist

Korraan (KOR-ran) - the central city of the Korraanier Empire, Roden's newest and smallest empire located east of the Forest of Mist, and in between La'adia and Balavar

Krick of th Bright Moon (CRICK) - a warrior of the Knights of the Bright Moon

La'adia, City of Verthandi (LAH ah-DEE-ah) - La'dia is the central city of the La'adian Empire, surrounded by the ever-standing Blessed Walls and home to Queen Verthandi in the Silver Castle; located in the Lady's Plain, south of the Forest of Mist; protected by various orders of warriors

Lady's Plain - Roden's longest stretch of plainland, the Lady's plain runs along the northern border of the Burning Sands and is home to the rare unicorns, pegasus, griffin and the religious Amlat warrior tribes

Leije, Master Assassin (LAY-jzhaa ) - hired by Trenton to spy in Montear and kill Sorceress Crysalis

Lidon, Balavan Lieutenant (LII-don ) - Lidon is a young man just short of twenty and has quickly rose through the Balavan ranks; arrogant

Magestor Esquire, a.k.a. Stinkfeet (MADGE-ehs-STOR ES-kwire) - leader of a war-band of goblins in the Burning Sands

Mistdancers - a society of sorcerers and sorceresses who cast blue magic using dances and gestures; they reside on the island of Misthome in the Tarian Isles

Misthome - a Tarian Island near the Ice Wastes inhabited by sorcerers and sorceresses known as mistdancers; the island is covered in a perpetual mist and fog

Mistwood Druids - the druids of the Forest of Mist strive to conserve the past and attemp to learn from it

Mistwood Elves - the elves of the Forest of Mist are hostile toward other intelligent species and have discovered the talent of basic summoning

Montear, City of the Fire Moon (MON-tee-ar) - Montear is a single city of no empire and is located in the Burning Sands south of Kelsan; the inhabitants worship the mythical Fire Moon, and the city is home to the fire mages known as the Cult of the Fire Moon, ruled by First Chair Crysalis

Nexus, the - Etidr'jsi, in a long forgotten tongue, the Nexus is the place of learning at Kelsan, and black wizards control the Master of the Dead who rules there; multiple libraries can be found, but none except the wizards are allowed to enter - even the vampire lords must gain permission

Nicel, Keeper of Caliban - a Varal elf who keeps the half-dragon, half-imp C'ren of Cremoria, as well as the emprie's dragons

Olrigar, Dwarven Capital - the dwarven capital in the Tarian Isles

Orb of Brilliance - one of the four Artifacts of Brilliance

Orcs - orcs are a species of similar form to that of the goblin, but are stronger and more intellgient; those who are stronger rule among the orcs; they reside in Feast Mount in the "Mucklands"

Pale Scale, Viashino Guide - a viashino who guides people through the Burning Sands for a price; knows limited fire magic

Papal Sabboth, Voice of Caliban(Papel Sab-AHTH) - the Varal War General of the Cremorian Empire in the Tarian Isles

Planeswalkers - near-omnipotent wizards who have surpassed normal mortality and can "walk" to the different planes of the multiverse; only those with the "planeswalker's spark" can become a planeswalker

Planeswalker War - a legend that has been long forgotten by most men, but tells of an invasion millenia ago by mighty planeswalkers who fought for the ioun stones that could be found nowhere else in the Multiverse; legend says that the war was ended by four planeswalkers who united and banished the others

Pyrox, Thundermage - a thundermage of the Second Rank of Danesi

Raven Leafglow, Elder Voice - born on Danesi, Raven began learning red magic, but was later expelled from the island; he settled in Tanglewood, became a druid, and is now the Elder Voice of Tanglewood

Roden (ROAD-en) - a remote plane in the Multiverse and is also used for the name of it's major continent

Roden's Ban - the name for the shield that surrounds the plane of Roden and prevents planeswalkers from entering the world

Silgamar, Archdruid (SIL-gam-MAR) - archdruid of the city of Lithamn in the Forest of Mist; yearns to preserve the past and it's relics

Silver Castle - the glorious palace in the city of La'adia where the Queen Verthandi rules

Sinastion Vari, Varal Emperor - Emperor of the Varal elves and Cremorian Empire; leads his people in raids againt the Calderians for resources

Skora, Hand of Verthandi (SKORR-ah) - with her self-proclaimed title, Skora is Verthandi's chief advisor and wants only good - at any cost - in, and for, the city of La'adia

Tanglewood Druids - the druids of Tanglewood are led by Raven Leafglow and the Elder Voices, comprised of both elves and druids

Tanglewood Elves - the elves of Tanglewood remain close to green mana, unlike the Cremorian Varal elves

Tanglewood Forest - the largest forest in the Tarian Isles, located south of Cremoria; inhabited by treefolk, druids, dryads, elves, faeries, and other beasts

Thad, Kelsan Caretaker (THAHD) - a previous caretaker and innkeeper in Kelsan who has recently left the city

Thundermages - a society of red wizards in the Tarian Isles who inhabit the island of Danesi; the ruling wizards are known as Pyromancers, and the most talented tame the wild dragons of Danesi

Trenton, Vampire Lord of Kelsan (TRENT-on) - a power vampire lord in the city of Kelsan, Trenton has discovered the truth of the Legend of the Sovereign Robe and has decided to campaign for the four Artifacts of Brilliance

Umaria of the Cult of the Fire Moon (YOO-mar-REE-ah) - a powerful fire wizard; she has studied ancient and bizarre spells; Aerelle's right-hand

Varal Elves - elves of the Cremorian Empire of the Tarian Isles; many have become accustomed to black mana, but a few remain who can use green mana

Verthandi, Goddess (VERR-than-DEE) - the Goddess of the people of the empire of La'adia, as well as some sects in various cities throughout Roden; she is the only goddess in most societies who worshipper, and rewards virtues and punishes sinners

Verthandi, Queen of La'adia (VERR-than-DEE) - the Queen of La'adia is the Goddess Verthandi's avatar on Roden, and so takes her name; the Queen resides inside the Silver Castle safe behind the Blessed Walls of La'adia; Verthandi's trademark is her translucent hair that casts rainbows when light hits it

Viashino (VII-ah-SHEE-noh) - the viashino are a race of lizardmen who live in the Burning Sands, and travel in small groups; they sometimes will guide merchants through the desert, and also travel north
