Chapter Five

Everytime they saw Candyman, it got scarier and scarier. The suspense was high, and the panic could be heard beating from every heart in the room. As the movie drew on, Justin and Joyce started getting closer. "Are you comfortable?" Justin asked Joyce as she laid her head on his shoulder for the very first time. "Uh huh," Joyce replied back. "Very comfortable," she continued with a sigh. Brandi looked over to the other side of the room. It was then that she realized that she missed Justin. There she was, all alone during the movie, with no one to hold on to. She couldn't help but think how scared she was all by herself, even though it was just a movie. It was then when a brisk tear trickeled down out of the corner of Brandi's eye when she got up to go to the bathroom. Everyone was too into the movie to realize that Brandi had left the room in tears. JC and Kimber happened to be sitting next to eachother. Suddenly, they grabbed onto eachother. "Wow, this is great," JC thought to himself. They just sat there with their arms on eachother. They weren't moving, like they were paralized, as if they were glued to eachtother. "Uh.... ummm..." Kimber studdered. She looked up at JC briefly, but then looked right back down. Within a couple of seconds, they let go of eachother. Kimber started to question whether or not she had felt the same way about JC. Did she still have feelings for him? "I have to go to the bathroom," Chris said quietly in Cheryl's ear. "Again?!?!?" she asked. "Yeah. Or would you rather me go on your rug?" "The bathroom's down the hall," Cheryl directed Chris as Brandi walked back to the living room. As Chris got up off the couch, he almost stepped on Katy and Lance, who were laying on the floor with their heads on a pillow from one of the girls' beds. Katy felt safe laying right next to Lance. Unfortunately, she knew it wouldn't last long, for the guys would be going places soon and wouldn't have time to hang out with the girls. Five minutes had past, and everyone was watching the movie as it was coming to an end. "Are you scared?" Katy asked Lance. But before Katy could reply, a guy wearing a black ski masked popped out from behind the couch and jumped inbetween the two. "It's a burglar!!!" Chelsea screamed as she grabbed onto Joey even tighter. The masked figure finally stopped and stood silent as the room grew quiet. It quickly turned around and slowly walked towards Chelsea and Joey, as if it were looking for something. What did it want? Where did it come from? It progressed towards Chels and Joey. They stood in the corner of the room hugging eachother tightly in preparation for the worst. "Are you afraid of me?" it asked in a muffled voice. They said nothing, then turned around. It was walking towards Joyce and Cheryl now, where they had both ran to behind the couch. Joyce ran behind Cheryl for protection. The two girls closed their eyes with fear of being face to face with this person. The masked figure grabbed Cheryl and threw her on the couch. "Chris!!! Help me!!! CHRIS!!!!!!!!" But Chris didn't answer. The person with the mask lifted it off. Everyone in the room gasped with confusion. "What in the hell is going on? Are you mentally stable?" Justin asked. "What is wrong with you? You scared us half to death!" Katy added. Cheryl laughed. It had been her Chris that was behind it all. "Okay, enough excitement for one night," JC said, calming down a bit. "Yeah, I think we should be getting back to our rooms," Justin stated as he walked over and grabbed Joyce's hand. She smiled politely and squeezed his hand. The rest of the guys agreed that it was time to go, and if they weren't back soon, Johnny would start asking them a million questions. "Thanks for the tour," Lance thanked Katy. "Anytime," Katy shot back at her hunny. "Yeah, thanks for the tour," Chris repeated to Cheryl. She just smiled as she gave a Chris a long kiss on the lips. "Yeah, a tour of the backseat of her car!" Joey added in. Just as the guys opened the door and started out the doorway, they quickly rushed back inside the apartment with scared yet confused expressions on their faces. "What's wrong?" Chelsea asked. "Why did y'all come back in?" "Umm.. Er...." Lance searched for the right words. Brandi opened up the door. What she saw wasn't out of the ordinary, but it seemed as shocking as ever. On the wall across from their door was a poster of High Harmonies. The girls' eyes were cut out and there had been blood smeared around them. Kimber had mustered up enough courage to walk across the hall to read the note that was attatched to the poster. It read:
dEaR gIrLs, ThE gUyS aRe ViSiTiNg In ToWn hOw NiCe Of YoU tO sHoW tHeM aRoUnD! tHeY'rE aLl YoU'vE eVeR wAnTeD ThEy'Re AlL yOu'Ve EvEr NeEdEd sO wHaT aRe YoU gOiNg To Do Now? wAtCh OuT cUz I wAnT yOu GiRlS bAcK!
Quickly, Joey grabbed it away from her in fear that someone else might see it. "Well what does it say?" Katy asked. Brandi was speechless, not to mention as white as a ghost. Although nothing was said, the girls knew what this meant. The guys could see the pain in all of the girls, and Joey crumpled up the note and threw it against the wall at the poster. "What should we do?" Katy asked. "Let's call Lynn," Cheryl answered as she walked over to the phone. The phone began to ring. "Hello, this is Lynn speaking." "Lynn???? This is Cheryl. Can you come down to our apartment?" "Sure thing. What's wrong?" "It's umm... you'll see when you get here." "Ok, I can be there in 10 minutes." "Thank you, bye." "Bye." Cheryl hung up the phone. "What did she say?" Chris asked her. "She'll be herein about ten minutes." Ten minutes later there was a knock on the door. "What's wrong?" Lynn asked the girls. It was obvious that something big had happened. "Well..." Chels started to tell the story. "Oh my god!" Lynn exclaimed.
