Chapter Three
"Hello, my name is Kay, and welcome to the Mtv studio how can I. Direct your call" Kay said into the cell phone that Sheena her boss had given her. "Hi Kay, this is Nia Tate and I ran into a women by the name of Sheena earlier and this was the number she left us with. Is she in? Nia asked. "Oh Nia Tate, I knew you'd call once I saw your and Mackenzie's name on this paper. But no Sheena isn't in the office would you like me to tell her you called?" Kay said. "So um can I ask you a real fast question, do I know you or something?" Nia said into the phone. "Nia" Macki said hitting her cousin in the arm. "No, you don't know me but I know Macki" Kay said on the other side of the phone. "Oh really" Nia said with an evil smile playing on her lips. "Would you like to talk with her?" Nia questioned. "Sure" Kay said "Okay hold on I'll pass the phone" Nia said giving the phone to her cousin and getting up. "Where are you going" her cousin asked. "Well, I thought about taking a shower and then getting dressed and going up and seeing if Desty wanted to do anything" Nia said with the roll of her eyes.
Mackenzie and Kay talked for a good twenty minutes getting caught back up on things. The two had gone to highschool together and had three classes together last year. The two talked about most anything they could think of, since they hadn't been real close in school neither kept in touch with the other. But that was the past because by the sound of the conversation you would have thought they were best friends in the whole world.
Nia came walking out of the bathroom with a towel when Macki walked by her with the phone still next to her ear. "Am I missing something here?" Nia asked Macki just gave her the shut up look and kept on walking. Nia walked down the hall and into her room shutting the door behind her. "Let see here I have my make up and hair done well almost she said seeing the curlers in her. She picked out a pair of light fade looking boot cut Sliver jeans and a her yellow shirt that was missing half of the back. As soon as she was dressed she pulled her hair out and let it drop down to her shoulders. She put on some happy and grabbed her sun glass and keys and walked out of her room. "Mackenzie, I'm leaving I'll be at the hotel if you need me" Nia yelled. "Are you going to lunch with Desteny?" Macki question coming out of her room with two different tops in her hands. "yeah why you want us to wait for you?" her cousin asked "would you?" "sure meet me at the hotel in 45 minutes" Nia said walking out the door and to her ruby red 4 runner.
Back inside Mackenzie was trying to find a pair of pants to wear with her orange Abercrombie Ski Patrol shirt. "Hmm I don't have pants where to look" she said a loud "Aww I know Nia's room" she walked in to her cousins room and started to look at all the different pants she had. "Man I could get lost in here" she grabbed a pair of American Eagle boot cut flare. She put them on and grabbed her doc martins and headed out the door. She got into her car and left to meet her friends at the hotel for lunch.
